Definitely buy your headphones from Nokia. Cheap knockoffs that are only mono are being sold by Cellcrew as stereo headsets so beware.
You'll find MP3 playing works fairly well although the volume is a bit low. The included player is very basic but this is a phone after all. I haven't located another player that has a more complete solution for organizing and transferring music to the phone.
