Ringtones that don't play
I have sent several midi tones to my phone and some play, some don't. When I try to play them, they just show as stopped. Others from the same download sites work fine. Someone got a fix for this? đĸ
Thoughts about switching to Cingular during the settlement
Does anyone have any thoughts on changing carriers during the settlement period?
I want to make the switch to Cingular (I know the service might not be as good but its a matter of principle and much cooler phones!!!)
I'm hoping the process goes like this ...
1) Send Verizon my selection for a full refund on my V710, car charger and second battery.
2) I sign up for Cingular with a cool phone and they port my phone number from Verizon and cancel my Verizon service.
3) Sometime in April (or whenever) Verizon sends info about returning the V710 and accessories for the refund.
4) Receive refund in mail and am finished with Verizon forever (or until Cingular screws me and I decide to go back)
Am I missing something in my assumptio...

I have a question about ring tones and if it's been answered please refer me to the appropriate link. There are 351 pages and thats a lot to sort through...
So does anyone know how to unlock ring tones that have been downloaded from Get it Now so that I can send it to my PixPlace?

Question about upgrading with the settlement lurking....
I am not sure if this was posted or not, I didn't see it in a search. I was wondering, if I decide to upgrade my phone before we receieve the return information, do I forfeit any money that was entitled to me through the class action?
I have had my phone since the day it came out, and it is coming towards the end. The battery sucks, the phone freezes, and I am just ready for a new phone. Will I be able to still take my phone back for a refund even after I upgrade to a new phone? The VX9800 is looking rather nice...

Did they disable Dial Up Networking?
I brought my V710 into a VZW store for a repair. when I returned 45 mins later they gave me a completely different V710. I guess they have so many laying around that they just swap them out as needed.
Anyway, the next time i tried to use the new phone with my Mac Powerbook as a bluetooth modem I was unable to connect.
Have they finally stopped allowing the ability to use the phones as a DUN gateway?

Money Back for v710, so now what??/
The V710 has grown on me since the bad start. The firmware update and new Mobile Phone tools really helped. But I opted for the "money back" settlement, assuming that a "better" phone would be available by the time it happened...
What are people trading in for??

I'm not too pleased w/any of the other options VZ has.
1)none have analog.
2) I kind of like the old menu system(vs the new RED design)
3. Have been using phone as a modem via dialupnetworking for free, w/bluetooth connection All my reading of posts say that no other phone will allow this.

Anyway to change that boring blue outer display to a decent pic or something a little nicer, can't find anything helpful in the manual.

megapixels/photo quality increase with memory card???
I was told by a friend of mine who also has the V710, if I were to get a memory card, that in addition to (obviously) more memory, I would also be able to take clearer pictures. I fully realize this is a phone, not a camera, so it is understandable that the pictures are not the same quality. However, with my digital camera being broken for the time being, I have been using the phone as a stand-in and would LOVE it if what I heard were true. It doesn't seem possible how more memory could help picture/video QUALITY, not just quantity... Does anyone know the truth? My friend and I do have different wireless providers, but I don't know what kind of difference, if any, that would make in this case. Some of my photos turn out surprisingly we...

V710 Settlement Confused???
I bought my phone on 1/24/2004 and based upon on documentation I feel I am entitled to a refund. I sent in the 1st settlement documentation and asked for a refund, but would like to continue to use Verizon. I am looking to get a check and then acquire a Treo 650 on ebay or some 3rd party company. Since sending in the documentation I have moved. This is also a concern of mine.
Question for everyone.
Has anybody received a refund or credit?
Does anybody know a timeframe when we should receive a refund?
What is the 2nd settlement documentation? I never received anything.
Does anybody have a phone number to receive any further information. I have called verizon customer support and they are clueless.

v710 settlement: Retail price or promotional price
I was part of the 2nd mailing, and chose option 2. I don't have my receipt, so I'll get the $200. Now, does the $200 mean we have to pay retail prices and take $200 off of that? that would suck. I bet most of us used the NE2 to purchase this expensive phone. If we have to now pay retail, that $200 leaves us only to get the "free" phones, without paying extra; which I'm sure others aren't excited about either.
Regardless, I'm only participating to get money from VZW and I plan on leaving for Cingular in Aug, when my contract is up.
Anyone know if we'll have to pay retail or not?

First Settlement letter vs. Second Settlement mailing
Verizon never sent me the first Settlement mailing for this suit and I was NOT going to be left out in the cold so I went ahead and printed out the Settlement and mailed it in before the 12.9.05 deadline. Yesterday in the mail I got the second Settlement mailing (I guess I was one of the 65,000 overlooked). Anyone think I should send this one in as well or what?

V710 went swimming
đ ok so today my V710 came off the clip and went swimming and its only been like 5 or 6 months and yeah i declined the insurance âšī¸ so while looking for alternatives i found out about the law suit, so far i havent received the notice but im going to print the form and send it in.
so here is the deal
while back my buddy found a v710 and tried calling from it but it was turned off so he tried calling from his cell n # was dead so he still has v710
can i activate that or will verizon take it back??
or should i just back outta my 2 year contract or get a new cell thru the settlement??
any ideas??

Received a V710 Settlement Claim Letter
Anyone else receive the Verizon Wireless V710 Settlement Claim Form? This one must be sent in by March 3rd. I never received the 1st form & had to get information after the fact & send it in with a letter. Maybe this is to cover those that Verizon never sent information out to?

-Verizon has 21 days to attest that they will comply.
-Settlement Administrator has 30 days for giving notice of approved or rejected claims.
-Each Claimant has 30 days to file a Challenge of rejection.
-After all disputes are resolved, Settlement Administrator has 30 days to compile the claims for Verizon.
THEN, after the later of all of the above, Verizon has 30 days either send the checks out for the $25 option or the ETF refunds and prepaid mailers for return of the phones.
Customers will then be given the opportunity to pick a replacement phone from the website, "any telephone offered by Verizon other than a Motorola V710"... "and then return their Motorola V710 telephone(s) and acce...
