Motorola V710

I am in the first settelment class but have not recieved my packet yet. I understand that you have to purchase a new phone first and all that but there is one thing I am just not getting. I could just be thick but answer me this. Do you lose your old plan when you get a new phone through the website? I have had my plan for 7 years and don't want to lose it. Thanks for any help.

Well, I printing off my claim form when it first came online and mailed it off. I also mailed off the claim form VZW sent me during the second mailing and I still haven't heard a word from them yet about the settlement. Anyone else?

I was reading on the Nuclear Elephant how to hack into the secret programing menu using
the commands: Menu + 0 + 73887 + *. Now my screen is stuck in this mode, how do I get out???

Is there a way to have the word Mom at the top of my contact list (since it starts with an M, it's way down on the list, unless I put a-Mom.)
Is there another way for it to stay up there, and if so, can you still use the voice command by saying "Mom"? I tried *Mom, but that didn't put it at the top.

have you guys been returning your phones with or without your batteries? i know that we do not need to include any additional accessories purchased, unless we want to - but what about the battery and the holster that came with the phone. i emailed the settlement administrator and they did not give me a definate response. instead - telling me to refer to the instructions - which are unclear about this point. see below:

I have already purchased a new phone back in dec and got one of those OBEX enabled v3cs. But I searched the v710 replacement site and realized a family member could use a new phone (still has a screen w/o color). could I essentially purchase one for him, or would this one have to be for me?

1 - what phone are people going for?

2 - if i get the apache-xv6700, am i blocked from all the cool features since we have VZW? do i need a data plan necessarily or can i just use the "phone" as is?

3 - when would the Moto Q come out and does anyone know if it would be on the settlement website in-time to send the V710 back?

Sorry this is so long.

I bought the V710 the first week it came out and I have the original receipt for:
$319.99 - V710
$79.99 - HS820 (Moto Bluetooth Headset)
$36.75 - NY Sales Tax
So the total was $456.72

I went to the exchange site, and ordered the the Treo 650 which is $299.99 plus about $26.86 sales tax for a total of $325.86. I didn't see anywhere in the exchange website where I could order accessories.

Verizon's Settlement package (with the pre-paid return envelope) says that Verizon will take back any accessories in addition to the phone, but pay me the lesser of the cost of the new phone and the cost of the original V710 and accessories.

My question's are:
1) Am I entitled to a refund of:

I have a couple of questions

If i get a new phone online, do i wait to get the phone and then send in the v710 and the receipt?

also, what if they find problem and they dont send me the check? do i get a refund and get my v710 back and then i send the new phone back?

and does anyone know how long it will take to get the check?

My phone is basically dead now, Can I pay for the upgrade, obviously keep the V710 then when I get the packet, get another phone, which gives me 2 phones to use...so if one dies, activate the other?

This is terrible. Terrible prices. Terrible everything. I think I'll just stick to Verizon til my contract expires in August and switch to Tmobile. I'll just throw the Package for this settlement away when I get it.

FYI for those who opted for the $25 credit instead of returning the phone.

It looks like that credit was applied over the weekend to my account. So far, all I see is a "-$25" on the Total Other Credits & Charges line, but am fairly confident that it's the lawsuit settlement payment.

So this means we have two more days until the last of this has been finalized. It's about time too. I'm on of the few that purchased this phone on the day it was released out of contract for about $450. I'll sure be looking forward to getting this check sometime.

Whats up guys, I see that most people that chose to keep verizon but get a refund on their phone have recieve the settlement packages. I on the other hand chose the option to get a refund and cancel verizon service...has anyone else that chose this option heard anything yet?

Does anyone confirm any available phones that I can use DUN via Bluetooth to replace my v710?

I don't care about speed, I just want it to be *free*(minutes used only). I can input any setttings into windows XP Dialup or the phone, but won't get into "hacking" the phones operating system.

I hear mixed reports about the RAZR or E815 using DUN via BT.

I received my settlement papers yesterday. Last month I needed a phone so I purchased the Razr from Verizon since my V710 completely died. I don't need a new phone, or accessories. But it sounds like my only option is to purchase a new phone from the settlement website. What are my other options other than purchasing a new phone and then selling it on ebay?

I just want the money.

I am surprised not to be able to find this info (or that anyone else is asking the question) as it seems confusing to me.

The accessories list in the mailer of ones that you can return with your phone for a credit is quite short. What about items that are not on the list. For instance, I have been hearing that people are returning their car chargers which is not on the list. My accessories (which I have reciepts for) are as follows:

1 Data Cable (only- not the Phone tools package)
1 Car Charger
1 128Mb Transflash Card
1 PCMCIA SD reader for the card
1 Extended Battery (which is listed)

I will not be using the transflash after this (getting Razr).
What happens if I send in these items and they don't give me a credit. I'd lik...
