Motorola V710

Since the V710 has video capture how do you think Verizon might integrate that into their flix messaging? Do you suppose we will actually be able to send little video clips to another phone or email, and if so how frickin' long will that probably take?? 🙄

I doubt there will be anything like live video feeds from one V710 to another or video conferencing any time soon due to the bandwidth limitations of the network. I know they already doing that from webcam to mobile phone, but uploading from a mobile phone must be slower. Plus I doubt there is enough throughput in the phone to support running the video and supporting a call at the same time. Wouldn't it be cool though? Maybe in 5-10 yrs, I'm looking forward to it!

Ok, I called moto today, wanted ask a few questions concerning out much beloved v710, mainly on the bluetoth deal, if it would indeed be compatible with an ipaq 4155. She put me on hold for some time, came back and said, well, all I have is a list of features, we wont knw of its compatilities until the phone is actually released. I asked, so..when do you think that will be? she said: "It looks like early June, but nothing has been confirmed, but it should be soon". it seems moto is back paddling a bit, I dont believe it will be the 21st. but MY beliefe is that it will be by mid june...I just dont think this much info and advertising would have seeped not to have it out soon..unless some major setback in testing occured, thats just my 2 cents...

just checked the motorola bids on ebay and i wonder how people could be willing to pay 800 dollars for a phone they have no review for, probably is full of bugs(since it is unreleased) and sth they have never seen or tried out themselves. when the phone is officially released in less than two weeks it would definately cost less than half that price.
whats so special about this phone anyway? plays MP3? get a PDA or an ipod. takes 1MP pictures? get a 40 dollar digicam. or is it the bluetooth or wat???????????????????

So does anyone actually know why Verizon hasn't offered the newer Motorola flip phones?
Everyone keeps saying it's coming soon, but I haven't read so anywhere.
I have been a Verizon customer for many years and it's time for me to upgrade, but I very hesitant about getting an LG.

if u the one bidding on ebay, and feel that the phone is coming on may 21 or 24 or even june 1 (3 dates that Ive heard but who knows), u can always retract your bids n give a reason of "thought I was bidding on something else".Its ez retracting bids on ebay

Just a quick question which I'm sure was asked before yet most likely missed it. Which is better, the v710 or the v810? Is it worth waiting for the v810?

Will this come with a transflash card? On ebay it looked like it did. Does anyone know???

I just got this Motorola V710 phone, and I seem to be having trouble with the zoom while recording video. The zoom works in 'camera' mode, but in 'video' mode is insists on staying at 4x. Is it supposed to do that? The Verizon guy who sold me the phone was no help so I was wondering if someone here has run across the problem before?

There are currently 2 more V710 phones listed on ebay. This leads me to believe that the release date is probably pretty soon and certain people are already getting this phone.

Does anyone have any idea the RETAIL price of the phone will be approxiatemately?

First off, finally there's going to be a CDMA Bluetooth enabled phone. When I get the v710 I want to get the Bluetooth Car Kit. I was just wondering if anyone could give me some information on its compatability with my factory system which is prewired for a wireless phone interface but it's only an option if I bought a phone directly from the dealership.

Why do people make up these bogus release dates???? Does it make you feel important??? My opinion is that it cheapens the credibility of this forum. This phone will not be released in MAY.

ok guys, add it up. First off, moto says may 21. Secondly they emailed everyone few days ago, thirdly they text messaged us today, fourthly there r several v710 on ebay by several different sellers, fifth; the only nay-sayers r the ones who r selling on ebay for 1200 so they pretend to know and say this phone will b out in august when its only days away.Would anyone pay 1200 if they knew that its 300-500 retail w no service contract, in a few days? I think not.Any way u look at it, this phone is days away!!!! and u all know it.

I e-mailed Motorola to ask when will the phone be released and the dimensions on the phone. this is the answer they gave me:
We may tell you however that the V710 phone is scheduled to be shipped to Verizon Wireless for distribution during the month of May and should be on the shelves by the first week of June.

Regarding your other concern, the dimensions of the V710 are as follows:

3.70" x 1.93" x 0.92" (94mm x 49mm x 23mm)

And its weight is 4.06 oz (115g).
