Motorola MPx220

Hey guys I am using my MPX 220 as a pay as you go phone I took the SIM card out of my cheapee sony ericson and installed it in my MPX 220. Now for the bad news I have been told that Cingular will be going to a new technology GSM and that I have to replace my phone with a new one I want to keep my MPX220 will this phone work on the GSM network??

Whenever I receive a multimedia message, I mark it for download but nothing happens. I never seem to get the attached photo in the message. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

I have tried but this option is Grayed out and will not function. I also tried Jpeg files with no luck. Is it even possible to attach to Contacts?

Are there any products available to view MS Word, Excel, etc. files? Thanks for the help.

ok, I have had my phone for some time.

How in the world do you turn on the ability to use the external LCD in the self portrait mode? i.e so I can see myself and take a picture while using the exteral lcd. I saw someone doing this with a Razor on New Years. It pissed me off that I couldn't do it. I know it has the technology. So how???

If I turn on my camera, then flip my phone shut, the external LCD just shows the time and date. (the camera remains on) I have looked through all the settings and menus (to my knowledge) and have found no option to turn this feature on/off. Here are some of my current settings.

Phone Settings:
Flip Answer: off
Ext. LCD Style: Style 2
Ext. LCD Back.: Default

Camera Settings:
Rez: 1280x9...

🤭 hI i AM HAVEING A PROBLEM TRANSFERING MY CONTACTS TO MY DESKTOP.
AT THE MOMENT I HAVE ALL MY CONTACTS STORED ON MY SIM CARD AND WHEN SYNC NO CONTACTS ARE TRANSFERED
IF I MAKE AN ENTERY INTO THE PHONES MEMORY IT WILL TRANFER IT WITH NO PROBLEMS.
IS THERE A WAY OF TRANSFERING ALL THE CONTACTS TO THE PHONE MEMORY?

Occasionally when I try to answer an incoming call I get an Error message and I am not able to answer the call. Most of the time it does not happen again right away. So far it seems very random.
I didn't see any mention of it when I did a search of this forum and was wondering if maybe my phone is defective or something. Any ideas? 😕

I purchased a new MPX220 at the end of may 2006. Worked EXCELLENT untill recently, the Inside LCD display went completely White. I called Cingular, they sent me a new phone, a "refurb" from motorola. The new phone works well, except when i go into Start>Settings>Phone Settings I just get a list that says:

I know this isnt right, I assume the last one is the Phone name, the \storage... is the location of the external LCD pic, but It doesnt let me change any of these? and I cant remember what the other settings are. Anyone help?

I can set a 2gb or 1gb memory on my mpx220.

I have a mpx220 and I have been trying to use Motorola Phone Tools 4.0 to install some files to the phone. I have it connected with a data cable and let Motorola phone tools update but it just says

"Motorola phone tools has not detected you mobile phone" 😢

Is there a way to fix this or do I need different software?

Does anyone know how to set the phone so it automatically sets the date and time?

I know someone already asked this, but I can not find the answer. I have 1.49 version on the phone and I can not get my internet to work. I am on the Cingular network, the phone is unlocked. I can make calls, and recieve and text message, but the internet does not work, any ideas. I read that someone people have the same problem, do I need to downgrade to 1.47 or 1.43 to get it to work on Cingular?

Hands down. Treos suck, sony-ericsson do too. My mpx 220 can out do any of them. I just wish that v-son could use it. Cing rules but work goes with V-son. V-sun sucks. life goes on...one dropped call at a time.

Okay, I'm having a problem with the text messagin on my phone.
I can receive texts but I cannot send them out!!
Is there a setting I need to fix or something?
It has nothing to do with my sim card, so it has to be in the phone itself.
Please help ASAP!!

I really like my MPx 220, but one thing that drives me nuts is the sorting of files. I have added a few pictures of friends and some music, and even created a folder hierarchy for the songs, and they show up on the phone in the order that I added them.

How the heck do I sort these things using the phone?

I opened my MPX220 just as i would always do and the right hand side of my flip broke. Right now its opening with the left side alone but that part seems to be breaking out as well. Anyone ever faced this problem and is there any kind of parts to fix such problems?

the volume is very low in this phone. i cant hear even when i m playing a song. is there any way to increase the volume

I've had my Mpx220 for 7 or 8 months now. If all the features worked properly this phone would be near perfect. However they don't. I'm looking for another phone and was wondering if anyone has changed from the Mpx220 to a different phone that performs better. For instance,
-CONS-
- Mpx220 frequently gives Err! message when I try to answer incoming calls 👿
- camera works like "my-first-camera", slow and unsteady. flash is useless IMO.
- bluetooth stopped working (could be the Moto-850 earpiece, not sure yet)
- I miss the iden-phones' speaker quality
-PROS-
- Windows Media Player, AWESOME
- mini SD card, AWESOME
- clamshell form factor is my preference
I like the Moto V3i that's coming out soon, but no Windows Media ...

Can you set up the flash to use it as a flashlight

i still have the original factory firmware cause i never wanted to upgrade without knowing which one is best. you people that have upgraded before, which would you reccomend?
