Motorola MPx220
Consider MPx220 for China/US combined use
Anyone out there using an MPx220 to send and receive Simplified Chinese SMS? I need that feature in order to go ahead and purchase this phone, because I spent half of my time in China where I need to send and receive SMS in Chinese Simplified fonts.
Is firmware 1.43 (Cingular) the official release?
I myself have upgraded my MPX220 with firmware ver 1.43 for Motorola and enjoy the improvements. However since all has been quiet with Moto and Cingular I am wondering if this is only an interim release version and if another more improved version will be the "official release" when it is finally announced.

Help Editing Homescreen
My homescreen shows two calendars. One is from XM (Express Mail) and the other is the standard one. I would like to eliminate the XM Calendar from displaying on the homescreen. Can someone show me the way? Thanks.

Is a 1 gig mini SD supported by the MPX220? Motorola states that only 512 is addressable.

Tasks on today screen?
I can see that today's screen showing "calendar" appointments. None of the tasks are showing though. is it expected?

Questions on Battery Life and Updating Rom
I just got my MPX220 the other day unlocked and I seem to have two problems. First is that my battery life last about a day. Is that normal? Will it get better? Is there a way I can change it to improve my battery life?
Secondly I have been trying to follow motorola's website and upgrade my rom to version 1.43. I did everything correctly, but when I run the system update it keeps saying that I have all the updates. But when I check under my ABOUT section next to manufactor it reads liks 0.0.270.0. So I don't know what to do about that. Can anyone help me? Thanks so much 😕

Downloading old text messages via ActiveSync
My screen got smashed and I cannot read my text messages (SMS). Does anyone know how to download the text messages on my MPX220 (cingular) to my PC so I can read all my old and future text messages until I get the screen fixed. Your help is appreciated.

ROM updates changelogs?
I'm on official Moto 1.43 ROM and can see that there are couple of updated ROM versions available on Internet. I like to stay current but not sure wether upgrade worth potential problems.
Is there a change log accompanies new phones which will tell me what was fixed so I can evaluate if it's worth updating the phone?

I upgraded to ROM 1.49 and now can not access the internet.
I upgraded my MPX220 to ROM 1.49 and now my phone will not access the internet. I am getting the following error:
"Unable to connect. Verify you dialup or proxy settings are connect, and try again."
How do I fix this problem?

Stereo Headphones available
In case you're looking for stereo headphones for the mpx220, the new ROKR headphones work, as do the Jabra C220s. They both sound pretty good, it's just a style preference.

Updating Roms and Installing
I am having trouble finding rom 1.47. I found 1.49 but I can't get it to intall for some reason. I am using an offline updater but I dont know if it is the right one. The reason I am searching for 1.47 is I have heard it improves the camera, call reception, and just over its better. Can anyone help me out?
