Here is some very helpful information i found on how to use a vx7000 cable with your vx8000 phone. Yes there are some bugs but other than that it looks great! Here is a link to the origanal forum. BE CAREFUL AND READ THE HOLE THING:

To add video to the VX8000:
1. Connect your data cable to the vx8000 (at the time of this writing, the
vx6000 and vx7000 futuredial cables at radio shack worked).
2. load up QPST, in particular the EFS Explorer.
3. BACKUP and delete /dload/video.dat
4. browse to /brew/media/ and put a .3gp video file in the folder.
5. reset the phone, the videos will appear in the "FLIX Gallery" in...

not sure if thats the newest copy but its the only one i could find.... also if you dont know how to use it, i wouldnt. Try using Bitpim first it might be better for you.

Does anyone have the the USB drivers that came with the Mobile Office Kit for VX7000 or any that work on the VX8000. I brought the USB cable home with me this weekend but left the driver disk at work 👿 and I'd really like to try to transfer tunes and flicks. I have read this earlier in the forum about the 6000 and 7000 cable working on the 8000 i dont know about the 7000 but i do know the 6000 cable dont fit in phone, i have two cables and they dont work so iam going to radio shack and check on the 7000 cable,if that dont work i will just order the one for 8000 shown in manual.

I took a gamble and purchased the "VX-8000" cable from RPI Wireless:

Works like a charm, at least for my purposes, which is as a modem. I just did a bandwidth test and saw 526 kbps.
Even better, it comes with the drivers, QLM software, and the correct username/password for the EVO network ({phone number}@vzw3g.com, password vzw).

This info has been great and it allowed me to pull files off of my new (way cool!) VX800. I have a problem though and am asking for HELP...
I have the RPI Wireless Cable/drivers and use BitPim "filesystem" to access the data.
I removed the dload/image.dat, added the file Tara.jpg (640x480) and rebooted the phone via BitPim and via battery removal. The file is there but the image does not come through. It shows the file name and a graphical question-mark.
Any suggestions would be helpful!

Nevermind! I found my BitPim version was old so the newer version does it nicely for me outside of the filesystem interface.
