LG VX-8000

I bought a VX-8000 from a neighbor. I verified that the ESN shown under the battery is clear. But now I've gotten confused. If I go into the hidden service menu and look at "Service Pgm" it shows an ESN, and it is different (and longer) than the one under the battery. In fact it's written out over two lines; with a three digit code on the first line and a longer number on the second.

Does anybody understand that? Does this mean that the phone has had it's ESN changed since the label under the battery was printed? I'm so confused 🙂.

How long will this phone last if it is not droped or abused? Love this phone but don't want to upgrade. What do you think?

hi all. can any1 tell me can i get my contact info off of my phone and save it to my computer? i have a data cable and bitpim and qpst. i have never used these programs though. I want to do this in hopes to saving it to a lag chocolate or vx8600. i will be getting one of these phones in 2 weeks.

Now I can't add ringtones because it says another application locked it and it needs to be unlocked. Help please

Hi all.i have a data cable and was hoping there was a way to get my contact info from my lg vx800 to my computer. i do have qpst and bitpim but have never used either programs.the lg web site had nothing for me.can anyone help?thanks.

VX8000 TIPS/TRICKS/FAQ

To add video to the VX8000:

1. Connect your data cable to the vx8000 (at the time of this writing, the
vx6000 and vx7000 futuredial cables at radio shack worked).
2. load up QPST, in particular the EFS Explorer.
3. BACKUP and delete /dload/video.dat
4. browse to /brew/media/ and put a .3gp video file in the folder.
5. reset the phone, the videos will appear in the "FLIX Gallery" in...

I downloaded some from a site but it does not want to work with my phone, where can I find the proper USB software to connect my 8000 to my PC? I already have a cable, just need the drivers.

Hi! I got my vx8000 last Feb 1st and the headphones that came with it just broke! You gotta mess with the connection to make it work. Is it covered under the 1 year manufacturers warranty since it came with the phone?

The incoming text message capacity is limited at 50 messages. I still have over 40 MB's of Contents Memory still available. Does anyone know of how I can make it so my inbox can allow more messages? Maybe by allocating some of the Contents Memory? Any other way? Thanks in advance for any help!

I was looking around, the 8100 forum, and came across a post that for the most part, seems to help with the "delay of shot" issue, on the 8100. I dont own that version, I own a 8000, but unless I'm just dead wrong, its essentially the same phone, just a little smaller with blue tooth and working mp3 controls, correct?

Would this V.7 update, also work on the LG8000 that I currently own? and honestly, its no truly big deal, but would help not have to have to, set the pic up and say "hold for just 1 more min" while I do everything to keep my pic from shaking or smearing.

I will ride with this phone till it breaks apart in my hand, have had nothing but wonderful experiences with it, just was hopping in a sma...

is there a way to upload your videos off the 8K thru bitpim? since i just realized sending to pix place uses peak minutes and out-of-network pix messages... what a rip!

I have the latest version of BitPim and I was wondering if anyone can give me the steps to take my videos from my phone and put them on my computer.

Every time I go to use Bitpim I receive an error message that says that an exception has occurred. I am trying to get mp3's on the phone and it just is not working. Advise???

I bought a data cable to hook up my phone to my computer.....i was wondering, is there a way i can put my videos on my computer and what program would i need to do that?

I have an brand new LG VX8000 for sale on e-bay. I am including an extended battery, plastic holster, charger, and headset. Right now the highest bid is $152.50. I have been told that there is a way to view saved pictures on the front display. Am I being misled or is this true. If true, how do you do it?
