LG VX-8000

I need help. My battery barely lasts 10 hours. And when i charge it from fully discharged it only takes about 30 minutes to fully charge. And it is supposed to have 128 MB of memory. but mine only says i have 55.04 MB. And on the verizon demo on the website it shows on the outside screen where you can access the main menu, messages and contacts. But on mine the outside screen can not do that. If anyone can help me i will greatly appreciate it.
