How much is this phone going to cost?

Does anyone know how much the vx8000 is going to be?

Hey does anyone know who can unlock a SPRINT phone for me so i can use it on VERIZON?

From the pictures of the VX8000, it looks there is a
moveable switch around the camera's lens.
Does anyone know what this is used for?

i haven't heard anything for a while and was wondering if anyone else has. the last post was the 9th. There are no vacations with cell phones. 🙂

Will the LG VX-8000 have the same driving mode function as the 4500? That is, can the phone be answered without opening it? The 4500 announces the call, and asks you if you want to answer it, it then allows you to talk [via the headset] without opening the phone.

I went to the CTIA convention here in Atlanta, GA and it was amazing! I spoke to some reps from LG right after they unveiled the LG7000 and LG 8000(with ev-do). They told me they were selling a limited amount of test phones for the 8000 in a local atlanta Verizon store for 4/1/04 in order to test the market for their new product. I was probably the first in the local store! And I'm telling you, this is the best phone by far that I have ever seen with any company. If you are in Atlanta or nearby, you need to pick up one today while supplies last!!!

I am liking the look of the phone more and more, simply based on the picture that PhoneScoop put on the Info page. This is a very good sign most of the time. But right now it simply means that they are getting going on the testing of it. Hopefully it will be out before the Christmas of 04. Or at least around then.

Any new info people?

Do these new shots of the 8000 and the 7000 mean anything about them being released any sooner?

From comparing the LG VX7000 to the LG VX8000 it almost seems pointless for Verizon to realease them both. Why not just go straight to the 8000 and not leave us all waiting an extra year(or more)? It doesn't seem that there are many differences between the two phones, with the exception of a few "better" features on the VX8000. Verizon, keep us all happy and forget the VX7000.

Here is the synopsis of what can and cannot be done, and to clarify for all the people who have been posting erraneous and false theories or views:

Just about any phone that uses CDMA will be able to be put on the VZW network. You must buy the phone as full cost, then get an ESN # "under the table" and a network ID. Thus the phone function will work with VZW's network.
***Unfortunatelly, as people have been correct, most of the addtional features, that are added to phones, will not be usable, such as:
TXT Messaging, PICTXT Messaging, Internet, Get it Now. Those are just some, for they are available through a VZW phone, to the network, so by breaking the restriction-lack of a better term- of having a predesigned VZW phone, you canno...

i'm new to the market of this website. i was wondering how do u guys figure the dates when there aren't any posted? some people seem to be pushing things out there own holes. how do you know how long before a phone hits the retail market, which is around the time the wireless company supports it, when there isn't much info (that i can see, right now). thnx.
