Kyocera Koi KX2

The Kyocera Koi is in final testing now with USCC. Demo models have already been released to stores and we expect to receive sales literature within the week. The hope is the release will coincide with the V710.

Right now I am holding in my hand both the USCC version of the V710 & Koi. The reason USCC waited in releasing the V710 was to allow time for bugs to be discovered and corrected. The blue tooth is fully enabled and the camera functions perfectly. As to picture quality, the Koi is superior to that of the V710. Taking a photo was faster and it really maintains the look of a 1.3 megapixel camera. After using the 2 phones now I am leaning towards the V710. The Koi's swivel is interesting but makes holding the phone awkward and fingers...

I agree, the 710 does look more professional. Also its nice the camera problem is fixed, cause my buddy has it with verizon and has problems.
What i wanted to know is you can get a transflash card for the 710, if you take pics and store them on the card can you then take it to walmart and put in a machine and print them out, do you know
Also are the pic still pretty good on the 710 or not?
Does it have external caller id or zoom on camera?
Last one sorry will it be out in cedar rapids, ia by dec 3, cause i have the soho right now and i have till the 3rd of dec to return if dont like, and i hate it and want the 710.

I've heard that the 710 has horiable image quality, looks nothing like a 1.2mp camera, on the other hand the koi takes very good pictures, ones that resemble exactly of a 1.2mp camera.

Weatherduck is right about the pictures. The Koi far excedes the V710 in photo quality. Even with the camera problem fixed the images look washed out and grainy.

As for the transflash card, yes you can have the images saved to the card and then take them into the kiosk at Walmart to print. However with the poor resolution I would highly recommend first placing the pictures on a computer and doing some manipulation so you don't waste money printing out bad photos.

The phone does have external caller ID with picture ID available. Also on lower resolutions you can use the digital zoom however your better off on the highest resolution and just walking closer to your subject.

Any word on the koi coming out around dec 1st as well? The local store was saying it would but haven't heard from anyone on here....

i have this phone at my store and i think its crappy just like the se47 was...its big the ring tones suck but are better than the se47 and the menu is not great...this phone is not worth the 149.99 i am selling it for.

but yet kyocera can produce a much better camera than the v710....I'm guessing your a verizon store?

ps i also have 3 v710 in stock but i think the v710 phone is way better...my favorite phone vzw has right now is the lg 6100 and the audiovox 9900 a much better way to spend your money. 😁

Well I have to complete the writeup on my Koi demo by December 1st because I've been informed it should ship very very soon. Not 100% sure it will be the 1st however since USCC may hold another week to let the V710 have an impact.

Local USC corperate store is saying it anticipates reciving the koi before the launch of the v710 which is slated for December 1st.

where the hell are you from the v710 has been out for 3 months now? the koi came in today everywhere in california... 😳

What is all this commotion with the Motorola V710? If the Kyocera KX2 is really that bad, I really doubt if the V710 is any better. A couple of my co-workers have got the Motorola not too long ago, and ended up exchanging it for another phone because the it gave them problems. I was interested in the V710 back when it came out at the end of the summer, and was recommended not to get it!

From the info I have, it seems that our V710 should be problem free. I dont see there the tilt in the camera is an issue with ours, and as ringtone stated the bluetooth is fully enabled allowing full connectivity to other phones, pda's etc. I find it to have a more professional look over the Koi and is a slightly more realistic size for most customers. I think over all they are both really nice phones with reasonable quality cameras, however im still the believer that says if you want a great quality camera buy a great camera...if you want a great quality phone buy a great phone...anyhow I think the V710 will be the better option and Motorola phones generally have a better customer reliabilty. I have till Dec 3rd to get a different phone, cause i have 30 days and it end on the 3rd of december. I have the Kyocera Soho and hate it. So do you know if stores in Iowa, like Cedar Rapids will have the 710 before Dec 3, otherwise im screwed.
Cause i agree the 710 looks smaller and easy to use and ive alwaus liked motorola.
I also like it has a memory card so i can save pics and print them out with a SD adapter.
So if can answer my question, i would so appreciate it

For starters, read through your posts before hitting the submit button, I've had to read through several of your posts several times to figgure out what you were talking about for sure, Talked to the Cedar Rapids store today as I live outside of town 20 miles and they said they expect the koi to come in near the same time as the v710 on dec 1st.
