motorola e680 questions
hi everyone im planning on buying the moto e680 and using it with cingular i have a few questions. Does anyone have that phone and are you using it with cingulars service i would like to know how your reception is? do you have access to an english manual and cd rom for the phone? and are the settings on the phone in chinese also? because a sales rep told me that most of the phone settings and options were all in chinese and it would be a waste of my money if i bought it... i appreciate it if anyone can answer these few questions for me thanks alot..

jeez I'd hate to be the one to tell you but no you can't use this phone for cingular.. you can use it but you will be loosing out on reception..big time.. I had the exact same prob.. I went to like 8diff cingular stores and they all told me that it would work..just to get my money... but it won't work it's like as if you could get 300channels on ur tv however ur tv can only go up to channel 99..hope this helps you out.. I know how u feel i also fell in love w/ this phone.. ur best bet is to wait forthe moto a780 it's just like it however a better cam..and works perfectly on cingular..

Unfortunately, the Motorola A780 lacks several of the E680's desirable features...
According to this site's Phone Finder, the A780 lacks Vibrate, Alarm, FM Radio, Headset Jack (2.5 mm), Voice Memo and a To-Do List.
Expansion cards for the Motorola E680 are common Secure Digital (SD) & MultiMediaCard (MMC) but the Motorola A780 uses something I have not heard of called TransFlash.
I could be wrong about this next point but it appears that the A780 also lacks support for use with a standard modem connection.
