Available at my store this Friday (10/15/2004)
I just talked to a Verizon store rep. And he said they would be available this Friday.
Can't wait to check it out. The reason I didn't get the LG VX7000 because it doesn't have Tri-Mode, because I occasionally will use it on road trips. I was going to get the Audiovox 9900 because of the great reviews and it's pretty cheap. But it didn't have a volume and Vibrate feature, neither does the Motorola v710. Which I really like that feature because its hard hear any cell phone in your pocket without the vibrate feature on too. Hopefully the LG 6100 will have that feature. I will hold off a week before I get so I can read the reviews. Hopefully the rep is correct, and they will get it on Friday.

UM no, the launch date is 10/18. I work for VZW and our intranet site states 10/18.

What site are you looking at because mine just says coming soon and gives the prices.
No Contract: 249.99
1 yr Contract: 199.99
2 yr Contract: 149.99
Now I don't know if there is going to be any rebates to make these prices cheaper but this is what my site says for my area which is considered Midwest.

It's not a site available on the web. It's an internal site. If you are a verizon employee, I am in the West Area part of the page. 🙂

Hold on...how do you know this for sure? Every VZW rep I've spoken to, whether it be in the actual store or on the phone, has said there's no specific date. Just that it will be soon. And don't they have to sell all the 6000s first before introducing the 6100?

I know this because:
A. I work for the company
B. We have an internal website at Verizon Wireless that lists all phones that we currently carry/or are going to carry. It says release date 10/18/2004 for the LG-VX6100. 😛
Why would I lie??? I have no reason to.

Oh and one more thing, most of the stores in the area that I am in have already sold out of the phone. We don't even have the phone displayed anymore on our sales floor.
...
That doesn't even sound right. Why would the store take the display model off when the phone is out of stock. My store has the 9900 on display and its discontinued. I can still direct fulfill it but I don't stock them. The only reason I can think of a store pulling it off display is if you are agent that just sells VZW service.
