LG VX-6100

I've been fairly happy with this phone, but just a couple of days ago the little icon to indicate a waiting voicemail appeared on both outside and inside screens even though I don't have a voicemail. I've tried turning the phone on and off, and I've tried turning off the message waiting indicator, but it doesn't go away. anybody know what i can do about this minor but annoying problem?

I have discussed this issue via e-mails with "TheMrBillShow" (a quite knowledgeable member of this forum) and he suggested I post it here. I intend to e-mail LG customer service and see what they say. On to the issue:

If I just turn on driving mode and then turn it off, the phone reverts back to regular mode.
However, if I turn on driving mode and make or
receive calls with it, after I close the flip to end to call, and then turn off driving mode, the speakerphone stays on-so that when I make or receive calls subsequent to disengaging driving mode, the other party comes through the speakerphone until I turn it off the speakerphone by pressing up on the navigation pad.

Just got the LG 6100 and want to get some ringtones for it. I have Verizon service. Am I limited to using only Get It Now for ringtones or if I have a data cable can I get ringtones some place else. If this is possible can someone direct me to a place to get ringtones?

I just recently received a "refurbished" 6100 off e-bay on monday. I've had it for a week and yesterday i started noticing a white screen. I'll have it on, leave it closed, and when I went to open it about 3 times, the inside screen was white. The only way to get rid of it was to shut the phone off.

I contacted the guy I received it from and he told me to send it back, he'd send a new one. (what a coincidence it hasn't done it in the past hour it's been on today) But if it's something simple like a battery or something, I'd rather buy a battery then be without.

Anyone else experience this? ANy help is appreciated! Thank You

When scheduling a recurring weekly event, the event seems to ONLY ring on first occurrence even though calendar shows the event scheduled on the calendar for all future weeks. Anyone else having this problem? It's difficult to test since you have to wait more than a week for the second or third occurrences. Sometimes a recurring weekly event will ring for more than just the first occurrence, but will stop after a couple of more weeks.

Also (possibly related), once setting up a weekly recurring schedule and displaying one of those particular day's schedule, when pressing the "Options" soft key a list of choices come up: 1) Monthly, 2) Erase, and 3) Erase All. I have the correct USB Cable, and a USB cable driver disk supposedly for this phone installed. When I plug the phone into the front USB ports it isn't showing up? I am using Windows XP Pro. Can anyone tell me how to do this correctly, or link me to a solution? PLEASE REPLY if you have a fix... 😕

I just performed a software update (*28😎 and everything went fine. Phone works fine. Problem is that now the service code which was 000000 doesn't work. It says "warning wrong service code". Any suggestions?

I tried to go in to the service menu but the code is not '000000' as it is on a non-pp model Anyone know what the code is for pp models?

Hi, I'm a college student and my cell phone is my only mode of communication, it also has all of everyone's numbers on it, and of course, because I'm so used to cell phones I haven't memorized anyone's phone number!

Anyway, today my phone was working just fine until i picked it up to make a call and both the internal and external screens were blank! this had happened once before and I simply turned it off and on again to fix it. This time this didn't work! I can still make calls, I called home and it worked fine, but I can't see anything!

Please please what do I do? I got it online through best buy, can i take it into a best buy store to fix it? Is there anything I can do??? I need my phone, and more importantly those numbe...

😕 I haven't punched anything on my phone-just carried it in my purse and now I have the words "car kit" on the screen. This makes me also not be able to USE the phone without said car kit. How do I get rid of this and how did I get it on there in the first place? Please help!

So like my sister had the 6100 and it broke and when she got a new one it wasn't like a LG battery it was some knock off and it wouldn't hold a charge very well. Did this happen to anyone else?

I set up a wap proxy at home and my VX-6100 with its Openwave browser uses
it just fine, except for graphics. Whether I set the browser to download
images or not, it doesn't seem to care - it just will not download images.

Is there anything I can do about this? I'm a big fan of weather radar, and
if I can have options other than GIN, I'd like to visit weather sites of
my own choosing and see the images I want.

Looking ahead, when my contract expires in November, I'm looking at VZ
Navigator. If I do end up with the Motorola v325, can I anticipate any
proxy problems with it? My wife's T720 is seen on my firewall, but refuses
to go beyond, using the same settings as my LG, and has the same subnet as
my LG.

how do these rank in order?

Sorry for the cross-post but, I am very frustrated.

Over the past couple of months my VX6100 has begun to lose signal strength.

My wife has the same phone and while sitting side-by-side her shows three or, four bars while mine only shows one.

There are times when mine will lose service only to find it again after only a second or, two. This causes the battery to drain quickly.

I've copied the eri.bin from her phone to mine with no improvement.

Anyone have any ideas?

This phone keeps going into analog mode. If you see it you can turn the phone off and on, it comes back digital. BUT, if you don't catch it it will kill your battery. I know one other person who has this problem. Are we alone? Any Ideas?

FYI,

Verizon has just released version 4 software upgrade for the 6100.
No big changes, just keeping up with the PRL so they told me.

A friend of mine and myself are trying to figure out why the 6100 is not on the verizonwireless website anymore. We just saw it in the store today. Is it discontinued?? We NEED to know by tomorrow morning!!!! Please advise as soon as possible. THANKS!

I am looking the verizon wireless website and cannot locate the 6100. I just saw it in the store today. Is the 6100 discontinued??? I need to get three of these by tomorrow or I will lose my every two upgrade (verizon is stating that they are enforcing the 6 month policy --only allowing customers up to 6 months after their upgrade is due).HELP

Hi i have a LG VX6100. I got the wire to hook it up to my pc and the sofwear to get/take pics on/off the phone, but it won't work. It says that it can't find my phone. Any suggestions?
