lg vx6100 vs. samsung sch-a670?
I am going to get one of these 2, and was wondering which was a better phone? I have been very happy with lg in the past, but I have heard very good things about samsung. 😳

The Lg vx6100 is a tri-mode phone so I will give you more coverage area than the samsung which is all digital. I personally would want the lg vx-6100.

Does the samsung have a speaker? Also which company is generally considered to be of better quality, I don't want a phone that after 3 weeks of opening/closing starts to feel flimsy like motorola?

I can answer one of the questions because I am going back and forth between the two myself.... the samsung does not have a speaker phone as the lg does, although it has the voice capabilities like the digit dial etc. I was told that the samsung is the best phone that verizon has out right now but I am going to wait until a week or so after this phone is released to hear reviews and stuff because I don't want this upgrade to be as bad as the 4500 was to the 4400 (the 4500 I heard was terrible!!)

Love the phone, I carry it now. Great reception, awesome sounds quality, small, very easy to use and is pretty durable.. mine has taken a beating. I would like better ring tones, and it's a bit slow at text messaging.. and since I txt near 3000 messages per mo.. it's a big deal for me. I love the phone.

I currently own the Samsung a670 and stumbled across the LG vx6100 on the Verizon web site. I'm still within my 15 days for trade-in. I have never owned an LG before. I have owned Samsungs in the past and Samsung's upper end just simply reeks quality. The a670 is built like a tank, it just feels good. Sound quality is just okay, and the headphone jack cover is incredibly difficult to open on my phone for some reason and that's frustrating. The a670 also lacks a speakerphone. Other than that, this phone is awesome, probably the best I've owned to date. I am very seriously considering a change to the LG vx6100 though, because speakerphone would be nice to have again. My only concern is in quality because all the features are obviously...

I have had a LG 510 (black) for over 4 years now. After dropping it on concrete over and over again, I now must tape the battery to the phone to keep it from turning off. There is sawdust behind the screen and it keeps on trucking.
IMHO: the phone has held up extremely well to my abuse. That is why I won't let the Verizon reps sell me a different brand. That and the fact that LG was the first digital mode phone that did not cause interference (buzzing sound) with my hearing aides (in 2000, 95% of all digital cell phones caused the "buzz').
The LG 6100 has a lower SAR (RF signals) rating than other phones. Although this is published for the "cell phones cause brain cancer" crowd, it is an extremely important number ...
