Voice Dailing Problem

TheMaxDaddy

Just got my VX 6100 on Saturday. Having a problem with voice dailing. I say "contacts", the person's name, then "yes". The contact name displays on the screen correctly up and the number is dialed -- ONLY THE LAST DIGIT IS CHOPPED OFF THE NUMBER! (this is on the display and what is actually dialed). So, I get a message that verizon does not recognize the number.

When i go into contacts via the menu and call the person the number is dialed correctly. When I use speed dial, it dials correctly. This only seems to happen with voice dialing.

Does anyone else have this problem?

I investigated further. It only seems to be a problem with contacts that have more than one number assigned to them.

Can you try that?

Mark.

I can set a default number for each contact, and that seems to fix the problem, except in the case of a contact with one phone number and an email address.

I guess in those cases I could remove the email, they were migrated over from an old phone. Seems to be a bug though in the OS (chopping off the last digit with voice dialing when the default number is not set).

I am on my 2nd LG-6100 in 24 hours. I am having the same problem with the voice dialing and it cutting off numbers. My phone only dialed the first 3 digits of the phone number. This was for contacts that had just 1 number or multiple numbers. I took it back to Verizon and they gave me a new one. 2 hours later I am having the same problem. This morning I turned it on and now it seems to be working. (so far...) I am assuming there is a software glitch that who knows when it will get fixed. I traded my Samsung A-670 in for this phone and I am wondering if I made a mistake...

Have you tried setting a default phone number for the contact? That worked around the problem on my phone.

Yes, it was even doing it for contacts that only had one number too....
