ERI Banner

I updated my PRL today and the ERI banner is now active on my 6100. Apparently, the OTA system finally has the right PRL associated with this phone, it's now pulling 50203 instead of 50202 which was for non-ERI capable phones. So, now those that like the banner can be happy and those that don't can complain about it!

LAX, I went into a Verizon store today in Boston with the intention of swapping out my phone for an Audiovox 9900 because of the "volume bug" that everyone's been talking about. (There is another thread on this forum that indicated that an LG software upgrade was currently available to fix this problem, but no store in my area had the patch.)

Anyway, after playing around with the Audiovox phone for about 30 minutes (seriously!), I decided that that was NOT the phone for me -- and so I decided to swap out my LG 6100 for a third time, really not believing that the switch would do anything to correct his bug.

The first thing I noticed was, as you said, the ERI banner is now on the phone. The second thing I noticed was that my first fe...

How about the "Drive Mode" bug on your new phone...???

If you go into Drive Mode, then make a call, end the call, turn Drive Mode off... is the Speakerphone still left in the "ON" mode...???

(The low banner will say "[UP] Speaker OFF" and the outer display will show "Speaker On")...

TMBS, don't hate me, but I might have spoken in haste. My first few calls did sound normal, but now, I am getting that dreaded delay again. The only thing that is different this time is that I'm not CONSISTENTLY getting the delay -- and those calls that are delaying seem to be those from people in my address book.

As far as your question goes, yes, the display says that the Speakerphone is on. I've never used Driving Mode before, but if I followed your instructions to the letter, then it doesn't appear as if that glitch has been fixed either.

That bug is more irritating to me then the Volume bug...

If you don't remember to ALWAYS turn off the speakerphone when leaving the driving mode... then you might be in a public place, your phone rings, you flip it open to answer, and you inadvertently are on your speakerphone, irritating all persons around you... and with the phone to your ear and the speakerphone on you can carry on a conversation quite easily, but all those around you will be hearing both side of the conversation... ☹️

Not Good...

Pardon my ignorance, but what's an ERI banner?
Also, I just updated my PRL and got 42059. I was at the Verizon store last night, and their display unit had 50202. Am I missing something?

"Extended Roaming Indicator"

It is either a "Blinking Triangle" or a banner stating "Extended Network"...

It shows when you are accessing the Verizon's extended network, which is the other systems that Verizon has special agreements with, it is no charged as roaming...

Where do you find what it is pulling, i.e., 50203, etc?

I noticed, it now lists the sent calls only once if you call twice in a row. Overwrites the time and call time from the previous call. Not sure about missed calls yet.

Any other changes? I hope reception is improved.

I’ll live with the banner if the phones bugs get worked out.
