LG 6100 - Great or inconsistent?

I've had the 6100 for 9 days, and still am uncertain about it. I have had only one dropped call, and a few with so-so reception. The phone is aesthetically quite fun - neat display, easy menu, Driving Mode is very handy. But the voice dialing is weird. Sometimes it's right-on, sometimes, totally misses the cues. (I went through the voice training on the phone...it would make sense to try it again, but there is no provision for re-doing it.) Like some other writers, I really want to like this phone, but the comments on PhoneScoop are off-putting. The "volume bug" does not seem to have visited my copy, but maybe because I use it mostly in Driving Mode. The speakerphone also seems inconsistent: sometimes I can hear people well enough, s...

The VX-6100 is an exceptional phone. There are many Pros to this phone:

1. Voice Dialing for me has worked like a champ. You can also train the phone if needed.

2. Speaker Phone works fine. No real issue with volume on speaker phone. The only problem I experienced is the following when not on speaker phone- At times, some incoming calls sound very distant or soft. To get this corrected, you must hit the speaker on and then the speaker off button which seems to reset the ear-piece and corrects the problem. Sometimes, but not always, you can hit the volume control buttons to correct this problem.

3. Reception: Let me first start by saying that I have been from Sprint, to Bell Atlantic which became Verizonwireless, to AT&T and ba...

I just purchased this phone thinking it was going to better than the 6000. I'm not sure it is. I have experienced that 2 to 3 second low volume when recieving a call. I'm seriously thinking about going back to the 6000 if its still available. Please let me know what LG is going to do about this problem.

I emailed LG directly. They have indicated that they are aware of the problem and is working on a software upgrade. As soon as it is ready, VZW will be able to update thephone for you.
