VX 6100 volume bug
I just bought the vx 6100 yesterday. It seems like a pretty good phone. too soon to tell. However, I've already experienced the volume bug. I went to Verizon and the tech told me that the software upgrade is not available yet. Then I called 800 cust svc, they had no clue about the bug. I then called LG cust svc, they admitted that there was a bug and they are working on a patch. They gave no estimate of when it will be available. Verizon offered to switch out my phone to another vx 6100. But there is no guarantee that the new phone won't have the same problem. any thoughts? suggestions?

FWIW, my experience suggests the volume problem may be regional.
I live in central Ohio and do not have the problem here.
However, I also travel frequently to Washington/Dulles and do have the problem there.
My local Verizon store (Cols., OH) claims no knowledge of the problem - it doesn't seem to be a problem in this region.
Nevertheless, I do hope that a firmware update is eminent.

egoldsmith: The problem does exist in central ohio, i bought my phone in October in the Columbus area and have had the problem the whole time. Also, I don't see how being in a different area can affect a problem w/ the phone itself. Just my opinion.

I also have this issue and i live in Knoxville, TN. to avoid this bug i have found that if you notice it happening simply press the side volume button up to solve. i don't know if this will work for you or not but it seems to work for me.

What software version is your phone on?
If you are having prob's with the volume bug deal you probably need the upgrade which was version 2.
There is a version 3 out currently but not sure if you need to have 2 installed before 3 but I would guess so.
Call Verizon & they will take care of ya.
