Samsung SGH-P716 / SGH-P710
It can't be?!
What a sweet day indeed, I've never felt the burden of conflict when it comes to chosing phones with AT&T before!! 🤣
Makes me wonder....."WTF WHY?!"

yeah, i know...att's like trucking right along and newsflash! YOU'RE GOING TO BE NON-EXISTENT BY THE END OF THE YEAR!!!
Did you ever stop and wonder for just a second. Cingular has agreed to buy AT&T, right? So, if you were buying something that had value, wouldn't you want that thing to retain it's value if not increase it's value? The reason AT&T is still announcing new equipment and still opening new stores is because Cingular probably doesn't want to buy a company that gives up and loses value just because a competitor is taking over. In fact I am sure it is even part of the deal that if AT&T doesn't show some sort of effort to remain competitive, then they can probably back out ...

and what about the fact that the "real" AT&T is going to go back into wireless??? when is that going to happen?
I've heard rumors of ATTWS starting up service under an MVNO deal...like Virgin Mobile and Sprint.

I am speaking of the fact that AT&T Wireless was spun off from AT&T in mid-2001, and despite the name, operates as a separate company. They are not actually "AT&T", now I hear that the "real AT&T" is going to get back into the wireless business after Cingular takes over.
That's what I was referring to. AT&T getting back into the wireless game by making an MVNO deal with another major carrier...like Virgin Mobile does with Sprint. 🙂

Yeesh...that's a little brutal, no?
Officially, the P710 is for Europe. That's how it was announced at CeBIT. Going by Samsung's typical model numbering, a T-Mobile version would be called SGH-P715. Of course, that might be confusing since the E715 is still relatively new. Who knows...
Anyway, T-Mobile will be launching EDGE later this year in about 30 markets. It's possible that T-Mobile will include this in their EDGE lineup. (Although I haven't heard anything specific.)

And that, officially, is the first news of Tmobile launching EDGE anywhere!

Hey since this site states that the P710 is GSM 900 does that mean T-mobile will get one too!? ( not that i'm not content with my Moto V300) but I would like to see some high-quailty Clamshell phones from Samsung. ( Ps I don't count the Samsung SGH-i505 which looks like a PDA)
I say ANY phone offered up by Samsung for any carrier is welcome, indeed.

Me, an AT&T customer, actually going to have a choice between three attractive, well (to extremely well) loaded flip phones (P716, E316, adn Moto V600)?!!

Don't necessarily get your hopes up too high about that v600, there buddy. I'm still not convinced it wasn't rushed to market.
