In most cases if you would take a phone that does BREW (Verizon) to a provider that does JAVA "J2ME" (Sprint). You would not be able to download things like ringtones or wallpapers. It same vice versa.

This phone supports both BREW and JAVA "J2ME" so you don't have to worry about sending this phone any CDMA provider (as long as they will allow you to take your phone to another provider).

The only problem is smaller providers networks might not support downloading things to your phone, or mobile web, most support today text messaging.
