Samsung SGH-E316 / SGH-E317

ok this is dumb but i just have to ask for help, my lady friend was taking a bath and she got some water on the phone, didnt submerge it in the water, just got some on there. now when she talks to people there is this nasty scratchy noise that goes on and off and when cant seem to fix it, now its probly obvious that it is because of the water but i was just wondering if there is anyway to fix it without getting her a new phone. would she be able to get insurance on the phone than turn it over as an insurance claim or something of the sort.any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, I have a motorola v551 but my friend has a samsung e316 and we tried to get her photo caller id working but it isnt working. Also instead of showing the name it just shows the wireless number when ppl call her. Can someone give me some detailed instructions on how to get the caller id working properly wit a picture?

I saw one comment that the ringer/vibrate option isn't avalailable, only one or the other. Is this true or can the rig/vibrate be selected.

Does anybody know if you can change the font before I call cingular?

Hi there. I am planning to get a new phone soon because my Motorola v60 is kinda breaking down on me (I had it for almost 2 and a half years). I am currently under Verizon Wireless and might be switching to Cingular because Verizon does not have a good selection of phones. The two Cingular phones I am choosing between is the Samsung e317 and the LG 1400... which one is better??

I am focusing on reception (will be used mostly in the New York region), display, camera, and ringtone. It is in order of importance.

can you put like a picture that you took instead of those other ones like the green and all those other ones?????

On the Samsung E317 are you able to put a picture you have taken on the external display, as the wallpaper? Also are you able to set the photo caller i.d. to show up on the external screen when someone calls?

I just switched from Nextel to Cingular. I used to have all the programs and wires to make my own ringtones on my computer and transfer them to my phone. I also transferred wallpapers and games. There is a specific program for IDEN (Nextel) phones to transfer data, is there a specific program for Cingular phones that anyone knows of? Thanks.

I have heard from some people that the call quality on the E317 is kinda bad. Like, when youre talking on it, it's hard to hear the other person, and for them to hear you. I assume this is just comparing this phone to Cingular's other phones. This phone seems awesome in every aspect and I want to buy it...but this issue with call quality is keeping me back.
Has anybody heard anything like this about the E317? and basically, what should I do?

I went into my local att store, (now a cingular store) to buy the e316...The lady helping me, said there aren't any more e316's after the merger and i should switch to cingular and get the e317...i said ok.....i was going to do it, but she said she heard bad things about the e316 for att, and therefore wouldnt recommend the e317 for cingular, even tho she wasn't sure the cingular version would be as bad...i really want the e317 tho, as i have been researching it for a while...Do u feel either are bad phones?? She said that there is bad reception on the e316.. She was really trying to convice me not to get it, and wanted me to go for the moto v551, which i don't really like....is the e317 ok??...or do u agree with her??? I will have a 30-tria...
