with regard the lack of an onboard MP3 player, will MP3 ringers still be possible? i am sorry to admit that i have been sufficiently ruined for life by voice ringer capabilities.

Nope, this device cannot play MP3's or use them as ringers either. It doesn't recognize the format. You have a choice to load either gigantic .wav files or really muddy .amr files. Kind of a letdown.

You can play an MP3 on the phone, but there is still no way to set it as a ringtone. To play MP34's all you have to do is DL the helix player (totally free, you can find in the free section at www.my-symbian.com) and install on the phone. The sound quality is smillar to that of a clock/radio. The phone only supports mono.

how do you get the program/file to the ngage. go to the site from the phone and download? connect to pc and install? i am having issues moving files from the pc to the ngage via bluetooth.
...
If you are having trouble moving files via Bluetooth you can use a USB connection cable to connect your phone to your pc.
If you are trying to download a file from a website to your phone some sites can do this. If they do then there would be a request for your cell phone number.
If you subscribe to a data service (like T-mobile T-Zones you should be able to email your phone the file from your desktop.

Actually there is no USB cable for the QD. Only way to move files to and from the device is though Bluetooth or the MMC card.
