**HELP!--Speaker On/Off Glitch--HELP!**
I just got the LG VX-4650 yesterday. It seems like a pretty nice phone. However, it has a serious glitch. The screen says '[SPK]:Speaker On' when the speaker is off and '[SPK]:Speaker Off' when the speaker is on. Is this common or are the cell phone reviewer for CNET and I the only ones who have experienced/noticed this problem? Is there a fix for it yet? If not, will getting a new phone solve the problem or should I wait for a Software Update?

Exchange the phone! I've been playing with these phones and have not come across one that does that only you and CNET have that issue apparently.

this is frustating. My husband and I just got our 4650 yesterday. I called the salesman last night and told him the speaker on & off function was not indicating properly. He said to return it for a replacement. Otherwise, I have been happy with the phone. My husband is still trying to adjust to the features. The speaker works fantastic and I like the voice command feature.

NOTHING IS WRONG...!!!
I'm sure you are referring to the...
.....[SPK]:Speaker Off
bottom line... and the
.....[SPK]:Speaker On
bottom line...
During a call these lines refer to what the Speaker side key will do, not the current state... The [SPK] indicates the speaker key...
The state of the speaker phone is shown under the top service banner of the Idle Screen...
The state of the speaker phone is also shown on the outside LCD display with "Speaker On" on the bottom of the LCD when the speaker phone is activated, or the date will show if the speaker phone is not activated...
I'm sure you phone is working correctly... This should have been clearly explained in the manual... as usual, it is not...
Relax... all is well.....

Thank you very much, TMBS! I don't understand why LG designed the phone this way, but your explanation makes perfect sense. I really appreciate you taking the time to provide this information.
