LG VX-4700 / VX-4650 / AX-4750 / UX-4750

1. when I charge my phone, the front screen stays lit at all times, until i unplug the phone from the charger. is this normal?

2. When i talking on the phone, the speakphone 'icon' on the screen states ON, when it is off and states OFF, when I enable it. Doesn't this seems a bit backwards?

3. When I access my voicemail and have old and new messages, the service gives me the old messages before the new ones. anyone experience this?

I have read numerous posts here and elsewhere but am still confused. I have a LG 4650 verizon phone and want to synch contacts/calendar and upload ringtones to my phone. I am still debating on buying a kit from Wireless on Ebay (http://snipurl.com/iw3h) but am unsure now based on what others have said- http://snipurl.com/iw3j .

I heard buying a Verizon Mobile Office Kit (http://snipurl.com/iw3q) for the 6100 or 7000 may work. Any know about this? thank you

I've googled the net, forums, various cell phone websites (like this one and mobiledia.com), gone through the LG usa site, and have never been able to find a concrete answer for how much memory this phone has. Anyone ever find this spec? Would be nice to know now that I have BitPim up and running and can add pics & ringtones easily.

Does anyone know if this phone can be connected to a laptop via a modem or cable for low-speed e-mail access? I just need to be able to pick up e-mail when I'm out of range of Verizon's National Access areas and can't use my air card.

And can this be done without signing up for a data plan? (I'm presently doing this with my old Nokia 5165 on ATT TDMA--now owned by Cingular.)

info needed: I've loved my LG 4500, but many near- dead spots despite nearby towers ("facing the wrong way" verizon tells me). Is the LG 4650 or the 8100 any more sensitive ? Some vzn staff say try the Moto.E815, but it's missing some of my favorite features that the LG's have. They also tell me analog isn't going to help in Charlotte N.C. area, just need slightly more sensitive reception. Not needing a camera, vcr, etc. Any comparisons appreciated. Thanks.

I put a home made ringer on the 4650, but it's like 150kb. is that too big, and how do I erase it? Thanks much.

Turned on the status light. Can't see any difference. Manual says phone is supposed to blink to show status. Don't find anything blinking.

I have a relative that is blind and this phone was recommended becasue of the vocie dial options. We just purchased the phone last night and it works great. The onlything I can't figure out is if there is an option that allows access between the office/mobile/home and such numbers of a contact from the voice command prompt.

I have the contacts currently set up where one contact has multiple numbers. When they do the voice dial, the phone recognizes the name but there is no option for which number. Anyway to change this so that when they say a persons name...they can follow that by "office" and it will select the office number to call?

If not, the only way I can see would be to have individual listings for each contact and number. ...

does anyone know if the signal booster for this phone is any good? and also if it wotks with other phones?

What is the purpose of the service light in this phone? Is there any way to set it up so it alerts about new text and voice messages? I liked this feature in my old phone and I'm not sure if LG VX4650 has it. Thank you🙂

My parents have this phone. My father considers himself a real handy man, but he is more like Tim from Home Improvement.

Well...he TRIED to change the face plate on his phone. He managed to break two little wires in the top part of the phone. Now the phone only works like a speaker phone. No, he didn't buy insurance one the phone. Does anyone have any suggestions for help him???

i recently updated to v11 for the 4700. now only when i talk to someone with the headset, if they make a noise they can no longer hear me. this is very annoying because i have to repeat myself alot. at the same time my g/f updated her phone and is having the same problem. took the phone to verizon, got a special order f.r.u. and that pos does the same thing. no it is no the headset, i've tried 10 different headsets. i just want to know if anyone has had a similar problem?

I moved and now have marginal signal at home. I drop calls constantly, signal goes from full to zero with no movement. It is very frustrating. 👿

SO, can I set it to analog? My old LG I could I cant figure out how on this one.

Is there a better digital phone? What has the BEST reception on Verizon?

I've been very impressed by everything that I have read about the 4650 and am very close to making a decision to purchase it.
There is just one thing that I am still trying to figure out regarding my experience with the earpiece volume with a live display phone at a direct Verizon store:

I just ported from Cing( old ATTWS) to VZW and selected LG VX4650. Is there anyway to change from pictured wallpaper choices to a boring plain background (i.e. wallpaper turned off)? I see no option for that.
