Motorola RAZR V3
Firmware Upgrade
I would like to know how I could upgrade my current V3, which got from Cingular, to a fully functional and not Cingular oriented as it currently is. In other words some of the themes, ring tones, im capabilities, etc that are available on the V3’s out of Europe would be a welcomed addition to a already great phone.
Any ideas or pointers?
Thanks!

Do some searching on www.howardforums.com and you'll find all the info you need. (Caveat: do your searching and homework before you post questions about modding your phone or the people on that board will toast you for not doing so.)
Thanks for your guidance, i am new to this whole cell phone flashing thing so you help is greatly appreciated, thank you.
Any other suggestions as to how to maximise on using the phone is welcome.

By searching and reading on howardforums.com, I now have a Razr with custom menus, manual network selection, Field Test modes, and no Cingular branding, just to name a few of the modes...

Has anyone tried this stuff yet? I'm kinda afraid to do so lest I ruin my Razr ...
Huh? Like I said, I now have a Razr with custom menus, manual network selection, Field Test modes, and no Cingular branding, just to name a few of the mods...
I've done quite a bit of this stuff with my Razr... 😎

I know, I know .... 😉 call it beginners trepidation, I may be a computer god, but hell I hate flashing anything lest one have a power hiccup in the middle, etc. hehehe ...
I do not recommend flashing or flexing your phone. The modifcations I made are purely seem editting and file transfers.
A seem edit consists of copying the appropriate seem file from the phone, flipping a couple of bits in the file with a hex editor, and transfering the file back to the phone.
The menu mods consist of copying the mma_ucp file from the phoone, using a hex editor or other tool to modify it, and transfering the file back to the phone.
Always make backups first...
