I am thinking of gettin the Treo 650 when my current contract is up next week. It would be my primary use phone but it would be nice to have another small phone for certain situations where i dont wanna carry the 650. Thinking about the Razr or something like that. Would i have to find a source for an unlocked Razr or can i buy one directly from cingular and just move my sim card from the treo to the Razr when i want to swap phones? Thanks

You can't use the same sim card for the Treo as the Razr. We have an account.. he's using the Treo 650 and I'm using the Razr. When we upgraded, he had to switch sims to a new one and I got to keep my old one. I don't know details, but you can call a couple of Cingular stores and ask. You may want to call more than one... the Cingular stores here all seem to have different opinions - not sure why they're not all trained the same way.

When we went to upgrade, the first Cingular store said that we couldn't have the Treo and the Razor on the same family plan - said we needed two seperate accounts as well as the data plan. Made no sense to us and he couldn't tell us why. We went to another one and he hooked us up in less than 30 minutes...

I have both the Treo 650 and the Black Razr on one account. During the day I carry the Treo, at night I carry the Razr. I didn't need to get a different sim. I just swap the SIM between phones when I'm ready.
