😕 can the 265 play mp3 ringers or use any format of ringtone that has words, not just the standard polyphonic tones??

yes it can. It can play regular mp3s. There is some formatting and renaming involved but its totally possible.

This should give you some assistance in getting the music onto your phone.

Danthalas,

Did you ever get the mp3's to upload? I'm thinking that the problem could be one of two places:
1) Quicktime isn't converting correctly (are you sure you aren't linking to the original media when you export through QT?) or is placing additional information in the file/file header which screws up the phone.
2) Your email client is putting additional information in when you try emailing yourself (I had a couple of problems when I first tried where songs would go into 'broken record' mode and I think it was just trunkation of the files)

Hope this helps,
JDB

Ive sent midi files that I downloaded from a midi site and it was in QT format, Thats why i used QT.
As for the email client Im using Apple's mail program.

after all is done I DID get them uploaded thru verizon website. but when i send it. It then states that verizon scans ALL messgaes for invalid formats. So my question is should i used hotmail mail or something like that? And what program should I use to crop and convert my mp3's

As of yesterday (I think), they have a GIN site that lets you download real songs with words.

Just go to the Get Tones section of the Get It Now Website and the program is called Track Magnet.
I wish there was a website which had the list of songs available for you to look through, like Modtones, instead of wasting airtime doing it through the cell phone. But this is Verizon Wireless and Get It Now whose reputations precede them on these matters
