Alltel?
Anyone know if Alltel will be receiving this phone? I'm glad to see a good phone without a camera is coming out.

V260 vs. V262
Just spoke with moto: v260 is for VZW, v262 is for US cellular. Both are identical except 262 comes with blue cover. However, both have exchangable covers. Has anyone else tried these out?

USCC Release Update
This phone has passed testing with US Cellular and is set to be released on November 17th. The stores should have the phone in stock on or near that date.

any news on this?
Any idea when USC is going to offer this? I hear they are getting new phones in November and wonder if this will be one of them.
I was interested in the V810 but this phone sounds sweet also. does it have the new programming of menues like the V810?
The better voice command and 64 chords sound great and I can drop th camera gimmick if the phone performs well and is cheaper.
Also does it have USB and PC sync or not??

lookin good...except
My biggest complaint with Motorola phone, other that the charge port, is the small size of the external display. Isn't there some way they could make it bigger?
USB??
What is the USB for if no PC Sync and no cam? This would be my next phone if it had PC Sync!
Is there anything other than ringtones that will transfer thru the USB?

Beware of Motorola's "warranty"
I purchased an unlocked Motorola 878, which broke three weeks after the purchase. I sent the phone to the Motorola Texas repair center. First they lost the phone then they returned it unrepaired. I have been given several different excuses for Motorola's failure to repair, which includes the following:
(1) The phone was not manufactured in the USA (however, none of the phones are).
(2) The repair is too costly.
(3) The phone was discontinued.
(4) The repair center does not have the parts
(5) Just buy another phone.
To date, Motorola has refused to honor its one year warranty. They have not repaired the phone, replaced the phone or resolved the situtation. During my last call to Motorola, a supervisor just hung up.
IF YOUR CONSIDER...

Any new info????
Is there any new info on this phone available. Was wondering if VZW will be carrying it (they sure could use a nice tri-band) and when it will be out.
Verizon
We had the Moto guy come to work today and let us play with all the new stuff coming out. it's all very cool. this one should be out around august or so he said.

WOW
You mean I beat the Moto Bashers to this thread? Can't believe it! 😁
looks like Verizon (and other CDMA carriers) are getting a mid level phone. Looks pretty good for the kiddies.
OK Moto Bashers... hop into your wayback machine and let us know what a POS this phone will be before it is released!

Just what I could use
I've been looking for a replacement for my faithful StarTac and this just may be it. I like the Motorola brand, I know it's slipped a bit in the past but I think they're trying to make a comeback. This looks like a great mid level phone with nice features but without going overboard.
Here's to hoping Verizon picks it up, but 4th Quarter availability, that could be quite a wait!
Cool!
😁 Hey this looks promising. I guess this would be good for us people who don't really want a camera phone, but a nice moto phone without all the bells and whistles of the v710. Hopefully its performance will be a lot better than the T7XX.
