Audiovox SMT 5600 / SPV C500 (HTC Typhoon)
Can't get my computer to recognize my phone!
I just bought an SMT5600 off of ebay recently. Well it finally arrived and seems to be working fine except that I can't get it to sync with my computer. My computer doesn't even seem to acknowlege that it is plugged in. It charges through the USB fine though.
I have tried different cables and even different computers. I used the included software on the CD and downloaded the newest version of active sync.
When I go to activesync and tell it to connect to my phone, it just keeps saying "Your device was not detected."
I hope the phone isn't broken.

One thing, when I check my sync log in my phone, it shows the correct date and time of the attempted sync and says "errors"

If you have a firewall on your computer, disable it and see if that helps.

This is off subject, but when you bought your phone off of ebay, how did you get it to work? Did you just take your current sim card and transfer it? or did you have to go to the Cingular store?
I had a 5600 but wanted the upgrade of the 2125. It is nice but the accessibility of the large font is only in the settings list. I am looking for another 5600 but it looks like my only option is through ebay and I am nervous about making yet another expensive mistake.
