Anyone using this phone on the US Cingular network? If so, how is it working? If not, then what network are you using it on? Any info would help as I would like to buy this for Cingular's service. Thanks in advance for your help!!

i haven't been using this phone but my brother had for about two weeks now (on the cingular network) and he said the phone works great for him

Where did he get the phone? It's currently not available from Cingular or any carrier.

I got my from myworldphone.com and it is an outstanding phone. I wanted a superior phone that had bluetooth, excellent speakerphone voicedialing. This has all of these features and they work flawlessly. Costco's website has this phone now as well I believe.

On the Costco website it shows the v620 as being silver. Does anyone know if this is just a mistake because i really want it in black.
...
the photo is of the v600. the v620 is black, invluding that from costco.com
...
thanks. yea i called them up and asked them and they couldnt give me a good answer. if you check now though they changed the picture so i guess someone at costco smartened up.

How can people be using this phone (as stated in the user review portion of this forum) if it hasn't even been approved by the FCC..am I missing something here?

Two thingss, I did not get the phone on ebay I bought it from myworldphone.com. Second it is not from Germany nor did it have a german manual as many of the v620's had. It came with an English manual for which myworldphone had to pay extra when they ordered it from Singapore. Just an FYI mwawa. 😲

Besides the manual being in English and not in German, any other differences between the German V620 and the English one thta you know of?
Thanks.
...
no, the phones are identical outside of the manual.

What a question is it? It works just as good as any other phones on Cingular. It is a quad band (850/900/1800/1900) handset. Works when the frequency available. Cingular loves the whole myriad of Motorola's. Check out the Cingular.com for products.

I think that's a perfectly valid question considering that the V600 did not work properly on Cingular's 850 network even though it was once offered by Cingular. The purpose of this forum is to ask questions about the Moto V620, which is exactly what Slainte50 did. I want to be certain that this phone won't have the similar issues on the 850 network as its predecessor did.

Now I understand your point. Yes, this phone that I have had for two weeks, has yet been working flawlessly. I bought it from expansys.us
However you can alternatively buy it from Costco.com
If you don't quite like it though, you may return it at any time (100% satisfaction guarantee for Costco members).
Good luck!

It looks like people are using v620 on Cingular without problems. But I'm having problems with voicemail. When I get voicemail, the phone tells me to "read" them b/c it registers the voicemails as testmessages and I get the textmessage icon instead of the voicemail icon.
Cingular tech tells me that it's a phone issue. So I called Motorola; but they tell me that since it's not released in the US, they can't help me.
Does anyone have any suggestions? thanks

I realize you're being bounced in-between. To my understanding, Motorola is programmed to accept voicemail notifications from the server. The matter is how this notification is coded. I remember having Siemens S56 for about a year on Cingular network. Only lately I was surprized to get a pure voicemail icon. In my region (Charlotte, NC) this change was implemented a month or two ago. Before that time all messages (voice and text) were sent in a text format. The answer to your querry would be a try-out of any V-series phone that CIngular offers in its store around your area and test specifically a voice recorded message, using only your SIM card on both (yours and theirs) phones. See what comes up. If Cingular phone gets this Voicemail icon, ...
