Supposedly it will be $399 with a two year contract
but you could get it with a one year contract from amazon.com for $270
There is no way they'd design it to break after a month or two, does a flip phone break after a month or two? As long as you're using it normally that's not gonna happen

Any part of any phone can and will break if it is mis-used or not taken care of properly.
And of course like any moving part, after a while it will have wear on it. It may not be AS sturdy when it was brand new, but it will be good enough to serve it purpose properly. And again, it wont break unless you do something to cause it to break.
