i think sony uses one hell of a subliminal messaging to the consumers. think aobut it when ps2 came out it had this big oll rush to buy one. lines and sh^&. i was one of them fools to pay 500 for one. why? the first damn ones were bugged and had the now infamous disk read error. but still we wanted........ no doubt the psp ans ps3 will be the same. and now this stupid phone.i mean, ask countless agents from a round cingular stores. they in a lot of most caeses will say we dont carry sony ericson. for a good reson. second, i hav had heard (no numbers to back this up yet, so if your a agent back me up on this of tell me difrent.) the sonyz500 has a 25% return rate.ouch. but why? why ?why tha f. do i still want t...

Do you think that Cingular is at all concerned of how much business they may lose or have already lost due to delaying this phone?

Just on this forum alone, there's people waiting to switch from a carrier, start up a new plan, or just upgrade to the S710a, and they've been waiting, and waiting, and how much longer are they going to wait until they go with a different carrier that is offering a nicer or even comparable phone to the S710a. FoNeFntIc10 is a prime example, he was about to give in and go with a V710 on Verizon. Luckily he's not going to follow through with that sort of mistake 🙂

But seriously, does Cingular even consider these sorts of things or are they just like, "Well, at least there will be still some people left ...

I've been looking that these 2 phones, and I just can't decide.

Should I get the p910a, which is available. Should I wait for the s710a which may be available any day.

Price is not an issue, I love wasting money either way.

Is the p910a a good enough PDA to justify tossing my Dell x50v? I'm used to both palm and CE based devices. How is the application support for the UIQ?

How is the data speed? Should I wait for the EDGE s710a? I could use this with my existing PDA.

I have a good PDA, I'm looking for a good phone. If that phone happens to be a PDA so be it.

Recommendations?

This is an s710 forum so stop posting useless information...we can all talk about how we want the phone but i really dont think talking about the nokia 6620 and having an idiot list is helping us learn about the s710's arrival. (akaszuba) I'm with Cingular as most of you may already know, or some of you at least. And I am very very very satisfied with their service, I love it. Before the merger, were Cingular and AT&T really as bad I heard people say they were?

For those of you who don't know, there is a good piece of software out there for most SE phones; it's called Float's Mobile Agent or FMA. You can link to it via this site (which has a bunch of other good stuff too)

FMA allows you to do all kinds of stuff, from downloading your SMS messages to your PC, sync contacts (works much better than SE's software in my opinion), use the phone as a remote control (which is fun when you randomly turn a PC monitor on and off from the living room as your wife uses the computer 🤣 ) and the list goes on. If you have a SE phone, I suggest you check out FMA.

Anyway, I love the program and from my initial research, it seems that it'll work...

Ok this phone looks great, and its features are also great, most likely i will get this phone, but i was wondering what is an easy way to open it? it looks like you might have to see who is calling on the screen and then turn it around to open it? sorry i am very confused, anyone know how it might open, or at least an easy way to open it?

this is a great phone i will admit, but starting tomorrow i will be a uscellular customer with the motorola v710. this is pathedick (sp) waiting for a phone when i need one now. maybe now others will realize the same thing i did, its just a phone, accually its a great phone, best luck to everyone who gets it, when it comes out.

I just saw some strange device in the air here in the east coast. I called the Army and they said they were test flying some Nokia 6620's and to not worry about it. Shew wow, I was scurd there for a second.

i hav found, this usage does get audited.if Revenue assurance sees a whole lote of data being trasnfered they are not stupid. they can tell if this is from a phone or a full blown html sites. and possibly even contact you to change to a data plan or with out knoledge put you on a data plan. i dont htink thell put you on a 79.99 ulmited plan. if this has not happend if this trend cacthes on then trust me - thell be looking in to it.

Supposedly it is going to get Cingular approval on the 24th or something.. Who on here will know if that happens??

I typed in s710 in the ebay search field and this popped out. If you scroll down you will see the s710 for sale. I told you guys it wasnt a fib.

SE's website has the P910a for $500 with free bluetooth headset on AT&T. With the free BT headset, it's almost tempting. I don't how much longer I can hold out for the S710a, but it's the one I want.

Samsung's SPH-A800 with 2 megapixel just got approved by FCC.

personally, i like the sony design, but Samsung's smaller form factor is a big plus.
