Sony Ericsson S710a

I was wondering, since Cingular now owns AT&T would it be possible to get the s710a on a AT&T service plan instead of cingulars? Because to me Rollover Minutes are Useless!!!

They just had a 5 minute set with a Cingular spokesman on fox news, and he was talking about hot phones for christmas. They discussed the razr, one clamshell I didn't catch, and the s710a. He said mid-January for the s710a, 400 dollars, and he said it was a Cingular exclusive phone.

In my opinion, this confirms what I'm sure we've all feared for the last few weeks...mid-January at the very earliest. Also, the phone looked REALLY big in his hands. It seemed to have a significant thickness, and when he unfolded it, it was very long. That said, it looked like an amazing piece of work, high quality and what not.

Hey i ain't trying to get,flamed or nothin but seriuosly its time we all start believin the random talk and except the fact that the phone isn't coming out still janaury, i know we've seen all the ads and the comercials and stuff like that but bottom line, if the phone was goin to be out this week or next week somebody at cingular would have concrete information on its release. let me repeat, CONCRETE not jus guess and random bull they heard from somebody higher then them. T

I just found a s710 on Ebay black and everything on it but all th extras including the box are from a s700, weird hmmm...

I visited Cingular’s ring tone page and they have added the S710a back on the list for the Sony Ericsson phones. Maybe everything will pan out; who knows.

OK its almost a week untill Christmas so whats up, i would think some of the cingular reps would know when this phone is coming out, if anybody knows anything new from the reps at the store or some concrete information or if u are a rep, please keep responding to this Thread on this forum, i would think there should be some new info by now.

Someone here mentioned that all Sony Ericsson phones are unlocked. Is that true? The only reason I usually buy phones from outside vendors is to get unlocked versions to use in Europe. If I get this phone directly from Cingular (or buy it from Amazon) will I be able to swap in a different SIM card when I travel?

There's finally an FCC approval for the S710, now the only question left is how long will it take for Sony Ericsson to release it? Usually I see phones being released a few months at the least after the FCC approves the phone, I hope this is not the case with the S710. I NEED this phone! 😁

I checked the s700 out ant the price is $699.99(with no contract of course)...god i hope the s710 isnt that much(since i wont be getting it with a two year contract)...i find $699.99 rather expensive and i dont think cingular will sell this phone for more than that razr...if anyone has heard any prices can u please let me know

I THOUGHT EVERYONE WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IT, for those waiting for the S710a, it got approved from the FCC today.

If u want the s710 in black then order the s700. It is the same thing as the s710 but in silver and u can order it over the internet, it will be unlocked, so you will be able to use it for any gsm carrier(cingular-att, or tmobile). I hope this answers your question because they will never make the s710 in silver becase the s700 is basically the s710 in silver.

Ok im hearing a lot of things...so who really knows when this phone is coming out? Someone said it was a simultaneous release date with the z500 but the z500 came out and theres no s710. So someone plz tell us when this phone is coming out!!!Thanks!

im still hoping the Dec. 15th rumors are true!
with all the ads that sony puts out on tech sites (cnet.com for instance), and all the flyers that cingular is distributing, if they dont release this phone this month, they're crazy!

OK...so like many of these people, i am getting a new phone. Dont know what to choose from. I am looking at s710a. I also like the k700i. I want to go with these phones becuase of the entertainment and camera . The mp3 thing is a big factor for me. Does any of these phones have good stero hearing??. And does anyone know of any other phones similar to these that are comming.
What I def want is:
good memory
atleast 1 mega pixel
Good quality screen and vivid colors and clearness on screen.
Good sound for mp3
Bluetooth,gprs, EDGE fast tech.

Please give me some tips. I have been on the internet researching soooo much, cant seem to find out certain deatails like the good sound. I am sticking with SE, becuase of the multimedia/music bac...

so i want a phone so bad... i won a v3 through work and sold it on ebay along with a grip of other phone we get through there. i was going to use that money to buy a better phone, and i nned a phone. i was only supposed to be using my nokia 3200 (Ugh... 😢 ) untill this one came out. i cant wait much longer...im almost tempted to buy the s66 for gods sake... release the phone!!!!

I'm in the market looking for a cool phone with lots of features and basically able to synchronize with my Apple G4, also bluetooth is a must. those are also the reasons why I'm looking into buying a SE the problems are that, first I don't know is the s710 will come with the Apple sync feature, and second that I don't want to wait forever to get it, this is getting to long for just a frigging phone. What do you people think? Should I wait for it?

I Just e-mailed Sony Ericsson USA 2days ago.However I did not ask about any release info. Instead, since I'm in love with the Silver color, I asked will it ever be available in silver in the USA. It's not ever gonna be in silver from Cingular but she gave the release info. Here is the exact e-mail reply. 🙂

No, sorry, but the S710a will only be available in Onyx Black.
