Sanyo MM-5600

Does the phone require a certain system?? and is it mac compatible.

do the features of the 5600 out weight the cost of it vs the 7400. I can get the 5600 at compusa for 199 after rebates or get the 7400 online for 109 after rebates. I know the 5600 takes bad pictures at night but is the camera in thew 7400 take good night pictures?

I really don't like the antenna on the 5600 and I heard that it isn't replacable and doesn't screw off. Is there a way to get a new antenna (light-up or something) for this phone?

I recently installed windows xp on my computer and now i keep getting this error message when trying to convert files in the 3gp converter: error 2048.
Any ideas on how to resolve this? thanks

I have had 4 or 5 different Sanyo phones. Each of them I had the same problem, the samsung port would go bad and my phone wouldn't charge anymore. I woke up this morning to find out my Sanyo 5600 was still on it's last bar after it was plugged up over the night, I checked it to make sure i really had it plugged up and it just wasn't charging. makes me mad cause this phone was way to damn much for stuff to be breaking already. I have had lots of friends who had the same problem, with Sanyo phones, samsung charging port going bad, if this happens alot why not just put the actual Sanyo home charger in he box???? To save people from having to swap chargers at the store

I think I found a mini sd card for cheap, I think the 1 GB cards are around $100 dollars, but if you go to Target.com and type mini sd under search, they have one for 24.99 and it is 1 GB, the brand is Dane-Elec, but just not 100% percent shure if the phone takes that brand but check it out. There are also phone cases on Ebay, I bought one they are called Sanyo mm-5600 shuttle cases. 😁

I still find people complaining about Sanyo signal strength after they changed the indicators a year ago. If you are wondering why new Sanyo phones show less signal than the older phones, here's why:

Originally Sanyo phones showed full signal strength as long as the signal level was enough to place a call without any problems. This could be anywhere from half the potential signal to full signal standing next to the tower. All other phones at that time showed a more accurate signal reading and most people assumed that Sanyos had better reception. 1st off, this is my 1st post & I've searched through the forum for quite a while but can't seem to find what I'm looking for...I would like to put MP3 files in my SD card on my MM-5600 phone, but I'm not having luck. I am following the instructions regarding Connecting my phone to my PC. I select TOOLS/EXTRAS, then USB CONNECTION, then MASS STORAGE, then YES & then connect my phone to my PC using the USB cable. It then says wait until connection is complete but my phone has been saying "MASS STORAGE; TRANSFERING"; "DO NOT REMOVE USB CABLE AND MINISD." & this has been going on for almost 2 hours. I don't understand what I'm doing wrong, if I need to format the miniSD (though there is already folders that say MEDIA, VOICE and DCIM (not sur...

I am reading through threads that list software to allow synch with Outlook, but perhaps because the phone is so new, I don't see anything specifically compliant with the 5600.

I am specifically interested in ditching my old cheap Palm and using my phone to have my meetings in the "events" of the phone. Anything out there for the 5600 for this?

I just purchased a sanyo MM-5600. Spare me all the its over priced stuff. I upgraded and received 200 dollars off the phone so it wasnt that bad. Anyway, im looking for sites that have screen savers, mp3's and all the other things i can do with the phone. Can any one help? I figured out how to crop an mp3 convert it and send it to my phone. Now i was wondering if there are sites with screen savers and other cool things for my phone. Thanks

I've been trying to copy my files into my miniSD card through my lap top by using the SD adaptor. Windows XP gives an error message while reading the card saying that card is not formated. When i tried to format it from laptop it refuses to do that saying it can not be formated. So everytime i have to use the data cable to transfer files to the card. Can anybody suggest a solution to that. Seems like the filling system phone uses on the card is not recognized by Windows XP. If a buy a 512 from the store n format it in my laptop would it work in my phone or vice versa.

I just got the phone UPS today. I was very excited. Here are the pros the cons and the dealbreaker that is making me return the phone:

Pros:
-Great screen
-cool voice dialing features (no training)
-ringer can be set to say "call from (computer voice reads name from phonebook)"
-Best speaker, I've ever heard on a phone (when playing music)
-Intuitive menus
-Super quick web browsing

Cons:
-It's kinda big
-It's kinda expensive

Dealbreaker:
-No MP3 Ringers! This phone CAN NOT do MP3 ringers at all!

Okay, is this illegal or what?
In late November I bought the 7400 just to replace my messed up VGA1000 with a 2-year warranty. The only reason why I got the warranty was the fact that there is the option of upgrading your phone. Now I have decided I want the 5600 and called 1-888-BestBuy hotline. The lady told me that Best Buy USE to offer the upgrade option but NOT ANYMORE. I was never notified of this. So, is this illegal of what Best Buy has done?

ps. My business law teacher has told me to go to the store and talk to the District Manager and tell them, "If I can't get an upgrade, I'm going to file a small claims report to the Better Bussiness Beareu." -Do you think this would work too?

Wassup guys. I've searched and searched, and have read countless post. In short, here's my question:

How do I get video clips on my phone?

I followed the instructions from the one thread in here and even did the 3gp2 conversion like the other guy suggested, still no go. I've tried avi, mpeg, 3gp, you name it, I've tried it. I know one of them has to work, I'm guessing it's something wrong on my part. If anybody has any suggestions, I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks guys.

Got my 5600 and was wondering if anybody else has this problem. When i go to upload either pics or ringers into my sd card from pc it just says transferring and it never stops. When I look into sd card on my pc it shows file is there. However if I just close windows explorer and pull out my usb connection file doesnt show up on card, HOWEVER if I shut my pc down after each individual file even though it still says file transferring it comes out ok. I dont think its normal to have to shut my pc down after each one and why does it just hang up on file transferring even though its already there. Even does this with a small 7kb picture. I got my hands on this one right now, too. The back of the phone looks like a digital camera-and the media, camera and camcorder features are unbelievable. It's a sliding phone, like the lg that is currently out, but it puts the lg to shame-just the view of it. Any body that doesn't believe me, post your PCS number and I'll send you a pic/video mail of the a800 and the 5600.

I uploaded the ringers that are in MP4 format into my SD card but everytime I try to set it as a ringer, my phone says that it can't set it. So, how do I changed this to make ringers from the SD card compatible to the 5600?

Hey need your help and expertise. I remember a while back reading a thread that one of you wrote in which you said that there was a hack or program to make the Toshiba 4050 able to accept mp3 files. I tried searching and then just read back over a lot of threads but could not find it.

So what I am asking is if I can with this program, take an mp3 file from my computer, use goldwave or audiocatalyst and chop it down and then upload that to my 4050. I am willing to download whatever I need to get the most use out of my phone. I am hoping that oneday someone might find a way for me to be able to download videos, but until then your help would be greatly appreciated.
