Sanyo MM-5600

Is this true? I work at bestbuy and the phone is deleted from our system. It was at bestbuy for a month and that is all... Other stores it shows it is discointinued. Is this phone already going and Sanyo already has another one coming out that is better. If so what is it? When is it coming out? I can't wait!! I want it now if it is. I need to have the best phones they offer for sanyo... I refuse to have less, they make so much money off me, haha oh well... Thanks for the info.

Exactly how many pixels high is the toolbar on the main screen? I noticed the bottom of the pic gets cut off by it. I'd like to add a blank bar to some of the screensavers that I make and upload so that the bottom of the pic starts RIGHT WHERE the top of the toolbar is. Anyone know the EXACT pixel height of the toolbar?

alright, here's the sitch:
1) I'm a college student
2) I currently own the Audiovox 6600, which I like most of the time.
3) I don't like having to take the huge PDA phone out to the bars/parties...plus pain in the ass to find a number in the contacts while driving...which is a major disadvantage.

SO: I figure I'll get a second phone put on my bill so I can have one that fits/works for going out partying.

Problem: I *love* my mp3 ringtones...i love assigning different songs to different people. I've been trying to do research on the best phone to use for my purposes (I plan on forwarding calls from my 6600 or something...that's another issue that i'll probably ask advise on later), anyways...i've seen on both forums that both do and ...

Does anyone know where you can purchase a new housing for the Sanyo 5600. I am talking about the actual plastic case of the phone, I would like to purchase a couple replacement housings for whenever accidents happen and it gets scratched/dented.

Has anyone been able to use the 5600 as a modem? I tried DataPilot but is has been unsuccessful. There has to be another way...PLEASE HELP!

i read somewhere that with a big enough mini SD card that you can carry a 90 minute video...is that 90 minutes consecutively or just a bunch of 30 seconds adding up to 90 minutes!?!?!?!?! i can do alot in 90 minutes!!! 😛

I am having problems storing pictures on my miniSD card. I install them using the Mass Storage option and sending them to the DCIM folder under the Picture/100SANYO folder. Everytime i go to retreive them after they have been sent, i see "No Pictures in this Folder". What does this mean? Does the pic have to be a certain size, certain file type, or what? I have no clue and its buggin me. Please tell me what options i have in terms of getting high quality pics to my phone. Thanks in advance

This is my first advanced phone so I really do know what Im doing. How do I put MP3s on my phone? Do I need an MP3 converter? How do they get from PC to phone. Maybe Im retarted but I cant seem to figure this out. SOMEONE.... ANYONE... please help me!

Has anybody converted a dvd to a Nero Digital mp4 file and got it to play in the phone?
I got one to play once but can not seem to duplicate success?

I have purchased the DataPilot & FutureDial Suite. I can not get my phone to act as a modem. Currently both companies above have now supported the phone but not with the dial function. I have spoken to Sprint who stated that the phone has to be in stand-by mode in order to work. I still can't figure that out. Has anyone used this phone to access the internet via the PCS Vision Network.

Can someone tell me how to download video and music to this phone?!?!? I am having no luck and am getting frustrated.... ☹️

Has anyone found a headphone jack adapter to convert from the 2.5mm jack that the 5600 uses (which has 3 channels instead of the normal 2 since it's a stereo jack) to a regular stereo headphone jack (1/8")? I'd like to use my nice headphones with the MP3 player but normal adapters from 2.5mm to 1/8" only produce mono sound. If you have any ideas I'd appreciate the help.

I dont buy CD's from the store anymore, I download them from paysites like napster and sony. I want to be able to transfer these songs onto the SD card but the 5600 doesn't seem to understand the WMA file format. I've also tried transferring trough napsters program and window media as well (transfer to portable device) with no luck, It keeps giving me errors, maybe because of them being protected by licenses. Have any of you run into this same problem and/or know a good way around it?

As previous owner of the SCP-5500(vm4500). One thing that really bothered me, is that I had to switch T9 on every time I went to text someone. I was wondering if in this model it stays on? Or do you have to turn it on every time you go to send a SMS?
