AT&T and Cingular are the same company now, so you do not have to switch, If you had AT&T you are now Cingular.

Actually some of what u said there is tru .....
Cingular sold all the at&t customers to other markets where cingular was already far superior....IE..North and south carolina... texas... Michigan i believe and maybe on other state.... so those customers may or may not be cingular wireless..might wanna check in your local area or on the internet...but u can always keep your own number

Ok here's the deal.. ALL attws customers are still on old attws plans untill they ask to change. They then are able to choose new Cingular plans and equipment just like new customers. They keep there phone number of course and the cost to activate the new phone is less than a new customer. Other than that the two groups of customers are kept seperate in 2 different account systems.
