Motorola V635

I am patiently waiting to see if Cingular picks up the V635. I'll probably wait until the end of June, and then purchase a phone regardless.

Since I've been waiting it looks like the V3 Razr has dropped in price to $200 with a one-year contract with Cingular.

Any opionions on whether paying ~$350 for an unlocked V635 is worth the price compared to the $200 I can pay for the Razr.

Does the V635 offer any significant upgrades that set it apart from the Razr?

I've been puzzled for months on which phone I should get. The s710a or the V635. They look about equal. What are some opinions. I'm so puzzled because I love the screen on the s710a and I like the memory capacity on this phone better.

I have a Moto V635 that is Orange branded and unlocked for Cingular service. The phone is perfect except for the poor battery life. I am no stranger to this Moto issues.

When I use my phone with my BT headset(Moto HS-850), I have to charge it daily. Now when I don't use my headset, I have to charge it every three days. Anyone else expirencing the same issues?

For anyone wanting to buy the V635 with new contract activation, it is being sold for Cingular on Mobilebee.com for $149(Brand New & Unlocked)!

Also with T-Mobile service (Brand New & Unlocked) for $249(new activations).

Also, if you just want the phone, they are selling it for $389, but you could find it cheaper on Ebay, like I did.

When someone leaves me a voicemail I get a blank text message. Does this happen to anyone else? Does anyone know how to fix this?

After reading everyones thoughts and opinions on this phone..I want it!!! But I'm not going to wait and see if Cingular is going to pick it up or not. Can anyone out there recommend a reliable and trustworthy website to buy from? I'm not looking to buy on Ebay, unless someone out there has had experience buying this phone. It would be nice if I could find one that had all the extras included (USB cable and CD, headphones, etc). Just looking for advice and a great deal! Thanks in advance for all your help.

I went to mobilebee.com to see the deal with the v635. The cingular plan you sign up for determines the price you pay for the phone. I want the 600 Anytime Nation plan for 1 year. That means the phone would cost me 249.99. I'm currently with ATT so I called these guys up to see how I could get my number ported over to a cingular plan. They tell me that ATT customers switching over to cingular through them are only eligible for an $80 discount from the retail price of the phone ($389.99), so it would cost me $309.99 with that same plan. That sounds like a bunch of crap to me. My questions are:

1. Are they legally allowed to do that since I am technically going to be a new cingular customer and I am activ...

And why is this phone limited to 256MB of this memory card?

This phone looks awsome and all....but whats up with the displays. First the outer display is only a 4k cstn display. WHY!!?? 😲 ....Second...5 mb of internal memory??!!....at 1.23 MP thats like .0000000001 pictures (a little bit of exaggeration there)...and third I like the new QVGA resolution...I'm just partial to the larger display...mabe its just me. 😕

Instead of posting my review in the user review collumn, I am going to do it here.

In the box I recieved the phone, battery, battery door, Euro house charger, mp3 wired ear piece, 16mb flash card and adapter, data cable and the latest version of MP tools, and Orange instruction booklet.

I bought my V635 off ebay and paid $265, plus $20 to ship it from the UK. It is an Orange branded phone and I was able to unlock it for use with Cingular Wireless. I was able to program all of the media net settings in the phone so everything is in working order. The only thing I may need to do is flash it to take all of the Orange menus and start up out of the phone.

this is what they told me, the phone is "expected" to release the end of May. To Rogers in Canada, and to T-Mobile and Cingular in the US. No estimated MSRP on the phone but the rep said to expect something around the V600 asking price when it first launched.
