Motorola V635

Any cingular reps register for the Motorola Learn 2 Earn contest? I won a V635, but it looks like that phone is not being released... I was told by Motorola that I was gonna be recieving a MPx220... Any idea when the phone will be shipped? Anyone heard any info?

I just picked up a brand new motorola 635 and it should arrive soon. I am used to the Nextel-style holsters (plastic, swivel holsters) and wanted to know where i can get one for this phone.

would a holster from the V600 fit?

Just picked it up and it's been very good to me thus far. It's accurate to the details in the review.

Quick FYI: For those of you who've had the mpx or vxxx series, the chargers/data cables are compatible.



I understand I must download Mobile Phone Tools in order to download ringtones and wallpapers to the phone. I have googled it but have not found a free version of this. Can someone point me into the right direction?


-What size does the wallpaper need to be in order to fit the v635 screen?

As most already know the Learn to earn prize has been switched from the V635 to the MPX220. Just a timeline update for those of you waiting for your prize. Motorola will be sending those out after they Flash the software and test the phones so you won't be getting them for at least a month.

What I need is advice.
My actual phone is a v60. I want to buy a new one but I'm not sure if it's worth the $140 difference($100 from the phone and $40 more for a 256mb transflash card) between the v80 and the v635. How big is the difference in the quality of the cameras? Is the v80 an old phone? I'd love to have a camera phone but I dont know if I need a 1.3 MP cam.
All I need is advice.
I earn a month (here in Argentina) about $275 so I would be spending a LOT of money.

Hi, I'm strongly considering purchasing an unlocked v635 off of a website. i have a few questions about the phone however:

1) How's the camera quality?
2) What's the max time for a video recording?
3) Does the external display have picture caller ID?
4)I am a member of Cingular Blue. If I put in my old AT&T SIM, will I be able to purchase games over AT&T's mMode?

It seems like a good phone for Cingular. Do you guys know why Cingular isn't picking it up? Are they kind of wary because of the V600 or did it fail some of there tests? I would be suprised if it failed Cingular's tests thought b/c EVERY review on there has been extremely positive.

Has anyone bought an unlocked V635 and used it on T-Mobile USA? I had to return mine because it would not receive the voicemail notification alert. I was told that it was becuase it was from Europe...but shouldn't an unlocked phone receive the upgraded voicemail notification?

Ok any idea on what charger to use with this? I just got mine off ebay and didnt get a us charger. Any help would be great. Thanks!

Is this phone out for Cingular yet? If it is does anyone know how much it is without signing a new contract?

Otherwise, has anyone had any problems with purchasing an unlocked phone from a random store (not a mobile phone company store)?

Any advice for picking one up? What would be a good price to pay (since it won't be covered by insurance right?)?

Does the external display show the picture caller id (as opposed to opening flip like on the V600)? Can you take pictures without the flash?

Hey guys. I've been wanting to get a new phone for some time now and I'm thinking about purchasing the v635. I just have a few questions about performance of some of the features. First, is the camera good quality. And also, is there photo caller ID on the external display. Any response helps, thanks.

I just got my V635 on Friday ($279 from Simoncells).....it is performing very well. The only issue I have is the screensaver digital clock which come on the front screen after a while. It definately does not keep time with the phone's clock...it runs about a minute slower!!! Any ideas? Can you get rid of this screensaver on the front screen? Thanks.

I have a Motorola v635 that is in amazing condition. I only used it for a couple days. It ONLY has a lifetime of 5 hrs of talk on it. I had to switch over to another service. There is NOTHING wrong with the phone. Please email me if you have any questions.

Just curious about what comes in the box with the moto v635. Does it come with a charger, usb cable, and maybe even a sim card? About to buy one from Rogers and want all the facts. Thanks! 😁

Has anyone had any signifant performance issues with this phone? ie, phone freezing, reception going from full to emergency...... Do all v635s have to be flashed to work at 100% with Cingular?

JUst curious about a couple things. Is there anyway to change the banner on the home screen? And can you simply transfer the mp3s to the phone via the USB cable when it's hooked up to the phone or do you have to dl them with the phone and pay the money? Thanks.

I really don't know to much about cell phones, so I was wondering if someone could help me out? Like all of you I'm getting tried of waiting and I was interested in buying an unlocked v635. My question is how do I get the phone to work with cingular. I don't know how this whole unlocked...locked...thing works and how you can get a plan with cingular with an unlocked phone. So if someone could e-mail me a site with instructions or give me some instructions Id really appreciate it. Thanks for your time!

Motorola was unable to sell the V635 to a carrier in the U.S. Which is why it is off the Motorola U.S.web site and why the description changed on this site.

After all the problems with the V600 and it being ultimately dropped by AT&T and Cingular, no one wanted to chance new problems with the V635.
