You have to download a song in order for it to be a ringtone. You cannot use your transflash card for ringtones. If you decide to upload your own there are lots of free sites to do so like the sprintusers forum. Also i suggest chaning the ringer to an aac file its a little smaller and sounds just as good.

this is soooo simple. if you ask me, i would say to get a program for music editing... and yes there are sites for uploading your mp3 as the ringtone, but first you have to ecit it- cut out the portion that you want to be your ringtone... you have to keep it small as far as the waveform, channel and bit resolution too. sounds complicated, but you now have someone helping ya... i had to traverse seas and across deserts for this info..haha. first, get on a site and download a version of a music editor. if you cant find one that suits you or have difficulty, i will tell you specifically how to get it. this is for most anyone... tonykuhn@gmail.com... i am not always on the internet so don't stress if you don't get a response asap...

Try mp3Cutter, just search in google (or your favorite search engine) for mp3 Cutter, it should be one of the first few on the list. I think it's version 4 right now.

All you do is load the file, play it till you find what part you want, cut the song, save it to your computer (all in mp3 so far) then use a converter to get it into AAC. Upload it to the web (sprintusers, 3gupload, etc) and download to your phone.

to be honest, you dont have to convert anything to AAC. i send mine to my phone directly as a Mp3 file. just the same as the song. and with the program i use, i can clarify the vocals and cut the bass so that our phone can play it to the best of its ability... maybe we could share some ideas?
if you are intersted or have something that i could use email me tonykuhn@gmail.com

You are right, I tried to use aac but it didn't sound very good. I use 3gupload and it will auto-convert it from mp3 to m4a and it sounds excellent on the phone, my only problem is I uploaded a 27 sec song, it cut it down by a few seconds (even though it says it will do up to 30 sec) the file is 140kb for the song, so with almost 6 mb available, that is plenty of ringtones.

I've been trying to get pmd files to work, I use CMX studio, and I can only get either audio or video to work but not the two together. If anyone knows the right settings for this, please let me know.

Thanks.
