Nokia 6101 / 6102

Does this phone have bluetooth?

I am very seriously considering a new unlocked / unbranded 6101 cell.

I really want to be able to synch it to my PC in order to copy names, numbers, notes, etc. and most importantly - install ringtones (I can adjust the ringtone size/format with Audacity and like software), and install wallpaper.

Do I use the Nokia PC suite 6.05, or are there better 3rd party programs available for this. I do not want to use IR transfer and would prefer using data cable. Which cable is for the 6101??

Anyone with experience doing this with the 6101? How big of a hassle to install ringers?

This phone looks like what I want. I'm seeing prices in the $210 - $225 range and that's OK.

I just went into Cingular and saw the cost spreadsheet and this phone will be $189.99 without a contract. It's not in the stores, but the say that it'll be in any day now. Hey, we've all heard that one before! Remember the Motorola MPX 220 and the Motorola A630. Hmm...

Boy I tell you, Cingular Represenatives don't be knowing jack. 😡

Cmon, when is it coming out for Cingular and how much without a contract extension?

This phone is so hot! I can't wait until it finally comes out. Will it still have $100 off its regular price if I'm just joining a family plan? It will still be a two year thing..

Can anyone advise if the new 6101 has a plastic or aluminum (outer) housing? TIA

I'm currently awaiting the launch of this phone. Does anyone know FOR SURE who will carry this phone and when it will be released!

When I went to a Cingular store the other day, the guy said the phone will be in stores August 15th. 😁

I just recieved my Nokia 6101 today. I found out last month that T-Mobile will have it sometime in the late 4Q, but I couldn't wait. So far, I'm liking it. The features are about the same as previous Nokia's. I don't quite like the quality of the pictures it takes. You can't zoom until after you take the picture. Video capture also captures sound too, which suprised me. The browser is pretty fast, but web page graphics are extremely limited.

That's what I've tested so far. I'm still reading the manual and figuring stuff out.
If y'all have any questions about it, feel free to ask.

I just spoke with highranked Cingular Manager in person and she told me that the Nokia 6102 is ready to be shipped from Nokia to the Cingular Warehouses. She expects the release anytime now. Reply with Q's

I went into T-mobile today and the clerk showed me the July releases. Samsung x495 (X475 but with speakerphone and sleeker design) Razr V3 on July 11th and the 6101 in Mid-July. No prices were available but the clerk seemed excited about the Nokia. Said people have been waiting for a Nokia flip.

Argg.. Asked a TMobile Sales Person. She saidit may be early - mid august for 6101 to come out. I find Cingular evil and TMobile impotenet in getting phones..... I wish America sorry USA had more that two GSM carriers and more than two "significant" poiltical parties.

Hi Everyone..I am one of the many who have been waiting for Nokia to finally make a flip compatible with Cingular. I have read several threads..and still can't find an answer to my questions.

- Will Cingular be using the 6101 or 6102?
- Why can't I buy an "unlocked" phone from ebay? Will it work? Will I have any issues?

Has anyone played with the menu on the phone? Is it typical NOKIA? Meaning...is it faster than the Motorola? My wife uses the Motorola flip, each time I use it there always is a slight delay each time I press one of the keys. I use an older Nokia and love the menu. It's FAST! For me..that's extremely important. I'll probably buy the Nokia regardless...but want to know someone else's opinion.

According to the new pricing sheet i just got, the 6102 wont be released in the southeast until September. ☹️
