Nokia 6101 / 6102

does anyone know how to download a normal ringtone to the 6101? I have it on the beep, but can not hear it at times. I am not too thrilled w/ any of the ringtones that come with the phone an do not want a song playing everytime my phone rings. Any HELP would be appreciated. THANKS

hello, I've been having a problem trying to figure out how to use t9 on this nokia. I used to have a samsung and it was easy. On the 6101 if I enter *AN* but I really wanted to put in the word *AM* what button do I press to change the word.
I was also having a problem with the alarm clock not working, I don't know if its just this phone or if there is something that I am not doing

I have read on some forums that you can use the voice recorder as a ringtone for Nokia 6101. Does anyone have any idea on how to do this. Thanks!

I have had T-Mobile for over 5 years and several different phones in that time and have always been able to turn off my voice mail (call forwarding to voice mail) when needed.
I now have the new Nokia 6101 and the options on the menus are there for cancelling the call forwarding and the seem to "work" but the calls still go to my voice mail. I liked being able to turn it off completely without having to forward my calls to a different number but that doesn't seem to be possible with this phone.

Has anyone had this same problem or know of a solution?

Has anyone else had the problem of the volume button being stuck on low? I just figured out if you use the four way button on the right after you hit the volume button, you can adjust the volume back up to the level you want.

Has anyone had a problem with the volume button on the side of the 6102 becoming 'locked'? Now I cannot adjust the volume at all. I also can't find it in the 'menu' how to adjust the volume either, is there a way to adjust the volume if the button on the side of the phone stops working? How would this be covered for replacement, under warranty or insurance? Has anyone else had or heard of this problem? Thanks for your advice.

Hello, my Nokia 6102 is being very gay. The Voicemail symbol is showing when I dont even have any voicemail. It wont go away!! and its very annoying. Now if I do get any new voicemail Im not even going to know because im going to assume that its still the same thing. WHAT CAN I DO!! HELP ME!

Just wondering how I could activate this easier. AFAIK, it only lets you select once the call has already started, and then you have to fiddle with the option menu to get to it.
So is there any other way to get it activated?

I wish they had just put a button on the side of the phone like other companies do.

Can I assign ring tones to different people in my phone book? If anyone can help me it will be really appreciated. Also is there an easier way to put my phone on vibrate?

I was just wondering what this phone is like and if i would like. i want to know how this would be for a general use flip phone for some one that is not good with technology

I have both the 6101 and 6102 model phones.
Both model phone features are stated at the Nokia website that the left and right soft keys can be configured.
I only find a right soft key configuration option in the settings menu for both of my phone models, no left soft key is listed.
Model 6102 phone is version 3.36.
Model 6101 phone is version 3.39.
Has anyone been able to configure the left soft key option for either model phone?

does anybody know how to turn off the shutter sound of the camera when you take pictures? thanks.

Has anyone encountered problems with "echoing" noise when making a call?

Example - I will make a call and will say, "Hi Steve, how are you?"

At the same time, I will hear the same sentence echo back in my voice : "Hi Steve, how are you?"

Is a defect in the phone or network problems or positioning?

I've seen the DKU-5 data cable listed on
E-Bay for the Nokia 6102. The NokiaUSA shows
a CA-42 cable are these 2 cable numbers refrence the same cable? My DKU-2 doesnt seem to work
on this phone.

when i try to log on i get an error "allow network connection?" yes or no. when i say yes i can see buddy list but can't send or receive messages. when i close out i get the message "item rejected no space. instant mess..."
anyone have any ideas what is happening here? i cleared out all old text messages etc...

Does anyone else have a low speaker phone problem.I can barely hear someone in a store or something.If you have then could you tell me how you fixed it. Thanks

Well, I got the whole transferring of files down but would like to add a couple more games. Anybody know a good free site that has some to download? I know the Moto guys used to have a site where they all just uploaded some and they were free to go on whatever phone. Just seeing if anybody knew of anything like that for this phone.

How do you send pictures from your phone to your computer via infared?????? I just can't seem to figure it out please help me!!! Thank you ;)
