Nokia 6101 / 6102

Need to change from old LG. 🙄 Need a good phone , large keys, easy to use, not too expensive on Cingular plan. Thank you!

does anyone know how to get video on the outside display i can get the photo i just can't figure out how to get the video and if anyone knows how to do this i would love to know how? thanks

does this phone not vibrate when the charger is connected?

I was at the local Cingular store to test the working model there. I tested the sound and it was pretty good both speaker and earpiece. One thing though was the ringer length. All the MP3's on the phone were 10 seconds long and none had voices except some baby laugh. Is that the limit or can I use more than 10 secs? Also, one thing I did not try was to assign ringtones to individuals. My wife's V400 can assign ringtones to each person, what about the 6102? can it or does it do the group crap?
Lastly, I tried to play games and it had none. Does it come with games?

DOES any1 get that 1 second delay when they hit the menu button.
also another like 2 second delay when u hit the picture gallery.

does any1 else experience these or other glitches in the phone?

Wondering if any 6102 users are experiencing a "hiss" during calls? It is not real loud but just enough to be annoying. I tested another 6102 and got the same results.

How do I get MP3s? And what am I able to do if i hook it to my computer.

After 1 month, the external LCD cracked. There was no damage to the housing. The phone was never dropped, stepped on, or abused in any way.

Nokia will NOT repair the phone under warranty. Their cost to "fix" the phone is almost as much as I paid for the phone in the first place.

The 6101 was my 7th and final nokia purchase, ever.

Go to hell, Nokia.

My dog ate my 3 week old 6102 and I am in desperate need of another phone. I like my 6102, but they are $160 and up on ebay, not to mention more than that at other places. Someone told me to get a 6101 from Target for around $130 and it would work the same. I have service with Cingular, so I didn't know if the 6101 would work or not. Can anyone give me any info about it? Thanks.

I got my last T-mo phone through this site 2 years ago. No problems!

I asked this question before, but I have a 6101 that I purchased from Target. The phone was sucessfully unlocked and worked first few days. It was a gift to my daughter. Now the phone has issue with not letting in phone calls. It prompts in bound callers for a password. I have no idea what to do. I am wondering if this has to do with the security settings, for call restrictions (pg. 45 of manual) Called Cingular, they were not helpful, said unlocked 6101 will not work with ATT system. Really? Sent question into to Nokia and they say they have no idea about this call restriction feature being available. Huh?.....Apparently the person who sent me the email response never read their owners guide. Anyway, there is also a reset function but...

I was wondering if anyone who already owns a 6102 could tell me how long the outer display stays on when you close the phone? I currently have the LG L1400 and the display shuts off after 10 seconds and it is very annoying. I am considering the 6102, but not if the same thing happens.

Is it possible to change the language firmware on the Nokia 6102? Mine has English/Chinese and is inlocked with 3.35 firmware.
I would like to be able to have English/Russian characters when using SMS.

When the phone is not in use, what is on the outer display? Is it blank, or does the time show? Is it backlit and the light goes out after the set timeout? I can't find a live picture anywhere. Any help would be appreciated.

My Cingular contract expires Nov 28th and I am eligible to upgrade. Wanted to see how the sound quality is with the phone since ive read the complaints. Has it gotten better with a fix or were people just not setting the settings right?

Any ideas?

hey i got my NOKIA 6102 and there seems to be a 1 second delay when I press the menu key...is this normal?(menu takes a seond to come up)
like on my old samsung, as soon as i pressed the middle menu key the MENU came up within a fraction of a second..(almsot no delay)

i was just wondering if anyone else has this like 1 second delay for the menu

Those of you with the 6102, can you manually change the network on the phone and search for available networks?

I live near canada and roam often and my samsungs option to manually search is disabled and cingular wont enable it. when i roam i have to wait for the phone to automatically switch back.

I was reading some of the posting about the volume on the 6101 and 6102, and I noticed that some people said that the volume was to low while others said it was fine. Yet, most did not mention which model they had, so I wanted to know if there was a difference between the 6101 and 6102.

i just got the phone, but i am an experienced cell phone user... anyway, every time i try to send an MMS to an email adress or phone number i get a message that says the sending has failed. can anyone explain this or give me some advice to get this to work... thanks.
