Nokia 6101 / 6102

When I close/fold the phone and then open it later on, it doesn't go to the main screen. It stays to where I last use it. Example when I check my inbox and close the phone and open it later on again the screen is still on the inbox section where I left off. It doesn't go to the mail screen. Anything wrong with the phone? Do I need to set up something? Is this normal?

Im going to get this phone reguardless, but a question i have is can you set the phone to "Vibrate and Ring" at the same time? I saw a similar question but i dont think it answered mine exactly.

Can this phone take pics at night, because it has no flash so i was wonderin. The lg 1400 cant take night pics so hopefully this one can.

The picture caller ID is pathetic on the mini-display! You can barely even see the picture. I am assuming that this must be a setting I can change and make the picture cover the entire screen. Is there any way I can do this? The mini display on this phone makes me actually like something about my LG 1400. ☹️

If you go to nokiausa.com, the 6102 is no longer on the compare and buy web page. Does anyone know why?

Well, I got my 6102 from letstalk.com yesterday, and so far I have to say that it is great. Now admittedly, I have not and probably will not use all the features (web access, picture messaging, IM) that come on the phone. But for a someone who prioritizes RF and battery life, this is the phone for you!

I live in rural Kansas and was hesitant about switching from my GAIT Sony T62u to something GSM only. However, last night while driving down a back road where I previously had at least 2 major spots with no signal, I was able to talk all the way through without dropping the call or even having garbled reception.

After my last repost of the phone being out and I would get it tommorrow. I called my Dad and told him and he said he would get it tommorrow. 10 mins' later he comes home with it. Of coure I thanked the crap out of him after waiting as long as all these threads have been up about this phone. So I played with it for at least an hour and just had to let you guys kno have fu%&*#$ great this phone is. Ive had at least six phones. And samsung, motorola, and LG look like crap after you play with this phone. The camra is great. It holds 67 photos when set on normal. The video is great it goes fot 16 seconds. Has anyone figured out how to turn on the vibrating alert when the phone rings? I've been playing with it, but I can't seem to figure it out ☹️

So now that people have the phone, how is the volume? Is it as bad as some people say or were they just not turning it up or something?

I ordered it from the Cingular sales # on Monday and got it in today. I called the number on their website, asked if they had it, and ordered it right away. I've been watching it for months and finally I have it 🙂

BTW I was worried about the volume too, but it is definitely louder than any other phone I had in recent years.

I have been calling Cingular since yesterday, and finally got to order my phone today! I extended my contract for two years, and the phone cost $109 with $10 standard shipping fees. I'm can't wait to get it and I will be posting a review once I do! Good luck to everybody out there searching for this phone -- I know I made about a billion phone calls with no luck!

Heyy everyone, I have been reading all these threads and actually belived it was gunna come out in october like most of you said. But today my cingular store, In conneticut, just got the phone in today. Im going to pick it up tommorrow and will tell you all what I think of it. Finnaly I dont have to use this crappy blk razr.

I understand that according to this forum, that this phone is out and available for purchase. Awesome. But, I live in CT, and one store that I went to said it was going to be a month and a half, and that they have not yet received dummy phones. This seems to be the exactly opposite of what I have been reading on this website. So my question is, Where is the phone released? (I don't want market numbers, i want towns and states please.) And secondly, Is anyone in here From CT, and do you know when its coming around here? Thanks Everyone.

Got the phone yesterday - still not sure what I think about it overall - but one thing I can't figure out is how to email from the phone. On my Motorola I could type a text message and then instead of typing in a phone number to send it, I could type in an email address. It was also handy for emailing pics I had taken.

On this 6101, in the "SEND TO" box, I only have the option of typing in a phone number....yet I have read somewhere that you could email from this phone - am I just missing it?

I called telesales and they said it was sopposed to come out today, but they pushed the date back AGAIN because of stock issues. He said that there are not a lot in stock so whatever Nokia did make of the 6102's the sent them to the stores first because they did not have a lot in stock for Cingular telesales to sale. And the Cingular Rep haven't even heard of the phone until I called and he talked to a person in telesales. I called a Cingular store and they said that they did'nt have the phones in the store but I could order one with them and have it delivered in two business days. So I think I'll do that. Oh by the way they said that all the stores did get the ones capatible for hearing aids, but not the regular ones YET
