LG VX 5200 Problems
Hey I have to real complains about this phone and I was wondering if anyone else has had the same problems:
1) It RINGS when on vibrate! I put it on vibrate, and it even has the little vibrate symbol on the front LCD, and yet it will still ring while in class/church/anywhere else that i need it to be silent.
2) I get a ton of dropped calls, especially in my house... i will be talking in my basement or somewhere else and all of a sudden "then call was lost!" comes up....
anyone else experience these problems with this phone?

I haven't had any of those above listed problems with this phone. I think the phone is great, and I get a strong signal almost everywhere I go. I'm in Washington DC by the way. I have noticed that the speaker volume isn't as loud as previous phones that I've had, but the previous phones I had the sound quality, even though it was loud, it sucked.

A friend of mine had this phone for 7 months and experienced all of the same problems. The phone would ring regardless of the setting (even with "alarm only" or "all off"). They dropped calls like crazy where Motorola phones and even other LG models would work. I'd start by having the phone replaced under warranty if it still is. If that doesn't solve the problem, I'd request a different model. The Motorola V325 is known for excellent reception and might be just what you need to get adequate signal.

I had this phone for a long time, and eventually gave it to my husband and got a new phone when he lost his. When I had the phone I experienced it would ring when it was on silent mode. The vibrate icon would be present on the main screen but it would still ring. This happened in church which was very embarrassing. It's also not as loud as my current phone, which is the LG Vx8100. The phone I currently have is just as bad as far as problems are concerned. The screen will do strange things like turn pink and purple with white virticle lines all the way across the screen, or not light up when you flip it open. It also dropps calls. I can hear the person on the other end of the line, but they can't hear me and then the phone disconnects. "...
