Data transfer problems
Just got the slider and installed the mobile phone tools on my PC. Hooked up the data cable to the phone and PC. Mobile phone tools says "not connected". Was hoping to remove pics and videos from the phone and install some small ringtones into the phone. I take it this is not possible through the useless data cable they provided or do I need to to get the SD card?

ok to get the phone tools to work this is what you need to do.... hit the number 1 six times on the keypad. then select options. then select service. then dialup networking. select it, then enable it... Then mobile phone tools will pick up the phone!!! 🙂

I had a similar problem the first time I connected using the USB. You have to enable "USB Transfer Mode" in the menu. Menu>Settings>USB_Storage>Enable. The phone will not be able to receive or make calls in this mode.

well... you could always use a transflash adapter to USB and switch out the card, putting stuff on directly from your PC.
I sure wish it had a bluetooth FTP profile... good luck.
