Thank God!

All you need is phones where you can block out certain features (texting, internet, etc). If your kids needs a migo, and can't handle all 9 numbers on a cell phone, then they prolly shouldnt have a cell phone. Kids now a days are pretty tech savvy and I think a 10-12 year old can handle a phone with all nine numbers.

Just give parents control over minutes, texts, and internet and I think everyone will be happy.

Junior Ketai are a hit in Japan!

It still amazes me how different our markets are compared to Japan. AU (KDDI Japan) launched "junior ketai" phones earlier this year specifically for kids, they've been a big success! These phones are phones that kids (and even teens!) want to flaunt. 🙂 With built in GPS, megapixel camera, and that cuteness factor that is soo ketai!

Check it out:

It seems like those phones are there to stay compared to the "fad" that they once were here.

T-Mob wins again!

No kid wants those ugly phones, and just because a phone can't download, doesn't mean it won't go over the minutes. Looks like T-Mob was the only ones able to put a good enough package together for the kiddies!

Even kids...

...are culturally savvy.

They don't want crappy kid phones...they want what they see their brothers and sisters with.

User Review

Did anybody read the user review for this phone. There is a guy saying that the phone got his kid hit by a truck because the kid went across the street to answer it without looking. Ummmm..... That sound more like a user malfunction then a problem with the phone. No offense buddy, but maybe your kid should be taught not to cross the street without looking. 🙄

ewwwww

why dont you just buy your kid a free phone , every carrier has some, and they will prob. do a lot more than this repulsive green thing. and if your worried about your kid misusing a cell phone, teach then there limits to it, or wait till they are more mature.

hmmmmm....

Well what happens when you give this to a kid and they decide to call 911 without any need for help? What then, and what if your kid has it in there pocket and it presses the help button (911) and it calls without them knowing? Now you have phones calling 911 and your child has no idea. Fines people... your going to get fined. BIG. Just think about that....

This will do great!

I think that these new children's phones will do really good. Personally I think the Verizon one is cooler. I thought this phone was awesome the first time I saw it about 5 months or so ago. LG makes the best phones and it looks as though they're doing it again. I can't wait to start selling this phone. 😁

Good and bad

I like this feature, being a parent. Being able to track you kids, and know where they are, and making sure that they're where they're supposed to be is nice. It's also nice to be able to pull one of those "I know you haven't left Susan's house yet..." moments.

My inner Orwell alarm is going off though... At what point does Big Brother starting pinging us, figuring out where we are, or have they already? 👀

what's the point? just restrict an LG

Ok, so it's a "Shrek phone" and may appeal to little ones. My 7 year old has an LG6100. I can restrict outbound calls to the phonebook only (which I programmed and is also locked) so how is the Migo better? Its the same price, a pain to program (have you read the manual on this?) and more restrictive than a regular phone. If you reprogram the emergency button, how is the FCC, with their drive to make sure every U.S. cell phone can call 911, going to react?

Which Qualcomm GPS chipset is in Migo?

Anyone know which Qualcomm GPS chipset is in the Migo. It will be an MSM6050 or higher.

Great phone for my 89 year old mother-in-law?

My elderly mother-in-law has a wireless phone primarily in case she falls or otherwise gets in trouble ... but, it's operation is beyond her, she hates it, couldn't use it if her life depended on it (literally) ... soooo, this MIGO phone looks like it might be just right for her. Comments?

Just got one for my Son...It's so darn cute!

I just picked one of these up for my son and I have to say, this thing is so darn cute! I see some posts on here where people are saying what a waste this phone is, how ugly this phone is, and so on and so on.....Well, they have to remember that this phone isn't offered as an upgrade to an adult phone or even geared towards adults at all, it's for KIDS and I think the idea and style are perfect. Heck, I'm 32 and I like it! If it had a regular keypad I just might of gotten one for myself! I like that you can put the numbers in that they can call and that it is so easy to operate for young, first time users. I think it is a great safety device and so much better than those pre-paid phones because the minutes expire and if they don't use t...

Ugly yes HOWEVER....

It does have a GPS circuit so you can locate the kid which gives it one benefit other than the fact it's as cute as a leper with a sunburn.

I see the Firefly becoming a bigger hit because you can customize it from blue to pink and it has the mom and dad buttons which the Migo doesn't have.

911 Button??

Is that red button for emergency use? I don't think that is such a good idea. Kids will be pushing it all the time.
