A BIG CHANGE --- PPC 6700 FOR SALE NOW TO CONSUMER ACCOUNTS
I have read over and over that the ppc-6700 is only for sale for business accounts. I have called sprint 15 times to verify this and it has always been true. However, I called today, on the consumer side and the lady told me that the business side would sell to me without having to setup a business account. They transfered me and in a matter of minutes, they sold me the phone, with no hassles. The phone will be here on Monday. So for those of you that want it and dont have a business account... good news... you do not have to wait until the end of october. There is also a 14 trial period... if you dont like it... send it back and still use your own phone.

I was excited after reading your message. I had spoken to a Sprint rep 3 weeks ago and was told that I would have no problem getting the 6700 without a business account. I am starting an appraisal business and will be using the PPC in the field to gather client data during the appraisal process. Based upon the availability reported from the Sprint rep, i booked a trip to Orlando for a vendor training class for the software package including travel and hotel for this weekend. I had to cancel after several calls to Sprint with no one seeming to care other than to say we're so sorry.
So again I called earlier this evening and the Consumer rep seemed to be familiar with the process of business reps handling and ordering the phone for non ...

No... Your correct... If your order is accepted it will be canceled.... Call 888-411-4727 (Buis Accounts) to verify... The only way you can order this phone is with a buisness set up account. I'm not trying to burst your bubble, but... POP!...

I did get the phone even though I am not a business customer. The only problem I had was that they needed to seperate the rebate from the phone. The rebate is backordered... not sure how a rebate can be backordered. But anyhow, the phone got here next day ups after the rebate and the phone were made seperate orders by customer service. I got the phone and it is great except for the fact I cant get active sync to sync via bluetooth and it does not carry over business contact manager within outlook. But I got it as a consumer account. I dont have any names for you... hope you dont have any trouble getting it.

jcm2005 -- I can't seem to replicate your results. Can you set out the process step by step so all of us nerds can also play?
Also, since you got the phone, can you enumerate exactly what 3.7 hours of continuous use means? 3.7 hours of talk time? 3.7 hours of being powered up until it needs recharging? 3.7 hours of surfing via EVDO or WiFi? I can't find any documentation on how long the thing might last just sitting in my pocket waiting for phone calls....
Also, touch-screen dialing -- good, great, decent, poor?

Here is what I did to get the phone...
1. Went to sprint website
2. Clicked on wireless link for personal
3. Clicked on the link for phones
4. Entered my zip code (which is a small city)
5. Clicked on the view phones link
6. Dialed the number provided (88😎253-1315
7. Talked to a represenative and said that I wanted to buy the phone... asked when it was going to be released for consumer accounts. She said business could sell it to me. She then connected me to the business side.
8. Once on the business side, the guy said it was correct, he sold it to me... I gave him the credit card... that was on Friday, he said I would get it on Monday.
8. On Monday I called to get the tracking number and the lady said it had not been mailed out....
