slide keyboard

hey everyone,

just about every reviewer points out that the sliding keyboard seems pretty suspect or that they don't have much faith in it's durability.

for those that have the phone, do you share the same sentiment, or has anyone run into the problem of actually breaking the keyboard already?

TIA.

It doesn't seem TOO sturdy.. It kinda giggles a little bit.. But as long as you don't use it that much, it isn't a problem.. Besides I prefer writing my words on the screen and allowing the 6700 to transfer my writing to text... MUCH easier.. DL

It does seem to be a bit fragile but only time will tell. I got mine 2 weeks ago and already dropped it with the keyboard open. oops! That didn't seem to hurt it though.

One thing that may be an indicator it that it wants to slide out (just a bit, not all the way because its locked pretty good) while you are holding it. It doesn't look like you can 'adjust' the tightness either.

While some what annoying but tolerable my guess it that it will hold up.

I agree with shwa311. I have had this for 4 days now and feel that the keyboard it sturdy enough, but the slight opening is very annoying. I wish they would tighten it up some so that it stays completely shut when handling or putting into belt case.

Okay, please don't get mad at me for telling you this, because I don't even own the phone yet. However, I'm buying this Friday, and so I've been going through these forums. The man at the Sprint store said that a lady came in with this problem, and that they took it in the back and tightened the keyboard up, so you might wanna ask your dealer if he can do the same...

The keyboard really hasn't been problematic for me thus-far... had the device since early September.
