no on the voice dial from the bluetooth headset.. And I was equally pisses when I found out that there was no OBEX option on this phone.. I loved Object Exchange on my 6600 and still don't know the reasoning of why they didn't put it on the 6700.. some one dropped the ball.. Hope this helps.. DL

As for OBEX, I understand why Verizon disables it and I agree. OBEX (object exchange) allows files and data to be transferred between 2 bluetooth devices. Keep in mind this has nothing to do with dial up networking using bluetooth. OBEX can allow you to sync over bluetooth and transfer documents to your PC. However, since bluetooth is not a very secure technology, it can be easily hacked and someone nearby you can steal all your data off your phone. On a PDA phone, that could be a lot of sensitive data. And Verizon as we know it wants to cater to the corporate people and assure their data is safe. So disabling OBEX would like a firewall to your data.

For a device like the 6700, I think all bluetooth profiles should be enabled. The reason Eric suggests for the disabling of OBEX doesn't seem to be strong enough. OBEX should be enabled with a DISCLAIMER of it's security issues. It should be left for the corporate individuals to make the decision of using it or not. I've never used OBEX before, but doesn't there have to be handshaking between the two devices before data is transfered?
Because of the availability of several BT profiles, knowing that a device is BT enabled is not enough. You have to dig to find out what it offers, and honestly this is annoying. Let all devices offer all profiles applicable!
